That’s remarkably unfair.Him and Mason are extremely comparable
Why not? Both entered the league Young with similar numbers, both played on a awful team, both are highly regarded prospects etcThat’s remarkably unfair.
There is some merit to that surprising comparison. But 6 goalies were drafted in first 2 rounds from Mason’s class of 2006, none of them was Steve while Hart was first of his class in mid 2nd.Why not? MTL is 100% not including that FLA first in a trade for PLD. What's the point when you can have him for free next year. Plus hed make our team better for nothing which would equal in a bad pick (probably between 12-16 which would be terrible). We're trading for him only if the price fits. Dvorak, Kidney and Mesar is the max Id go (I don't like including Mesar but with the high probability that we end up with Benson, I could live with it).IMO high chance Panthers 1st is involved in a trade for PLD.
That leaves the Habs pick which is as of now the 5th OA. We are not trading that for Carter Hart let alone add.

Maybe if you keep adding mediocre assets you'll get closeAllen + Harris + Ylonen + 2nd 2023 for Hart.

Hell Habs are fine with splitting the difference so both the Flyers and the Jets will be happy..Flyers can have any of those "assets" they've already been promised to the Jets for PLD.

Seems appropriate for a mediocre starterMaybe if you keep adding mediocre assets you'll get close
Allen having yet to start playing on his new 2yr contract would be a tough sell.Allen + Harris + Ylonen + 2nd 2023 for Hart.
Montreal ahead of sens? What are you smoking
Stutz>SuzukiOttawa, a buyer this TDL, is less than 20 points ahead of Montreal who are about to set the single season record for man-games lost.
Also, the Sens have 0 goaltending prospects of note, and their best non-NHL player coming into this season is like Shane Pinto?
Mediocre? Jordan Harris will be a regular top 4 D two years from now.Maybe if you keep adding mediocre assets you'll get close

love Dubois but hes not a 1C tbh i would actually rather have him on the wing with Suzuki and CaufieldThere you go, Habs gain their 1G and 1C for a few depth prospects, good deal. Power of positive thinking!

Habs ain't trading Kidney for PLD.
2024 top15 cond 1st (slides to 2026 if top15)
Mysak
D prospect not named Mailloux Barron Hutson Engstrom
+ Cap
Is the highest you go
You do bot trade top prospects when you are dealong from the position of strenght.Lol what? I'm a Habs fan and this is crazy talk.
Dubois is a bona fide 2C in the NHL, 60 pts scorer and might beat that this season. Will be 25 years old at the start of next season...
Kidney is a good prospect at this point, but I'd trade him for PLD in a heartbeat. It's not like Kidney is a can't miss, and it's not like he's penciled as a first-line stud in the becoming.
Now, there might be character flaws that Montreal's management don't like with Dubois, but idk them as a fan and if these are serious considerations, you just don't acquire him whatever the price...

I'd much rather trade the 2024 1st rd pick with a Top15/20 protection that slides to 2026 (cause we want yo be in the Misa draft), than Kidney. 2024 draft looks like verrry average so if our pick is 20+, said prospect will he worse than Kidney and 2-3 ywars away from the NHL
Kidney was the best player in the Q this year. Don't tell me Dumais was. Kidney was a force offensively and defensively.Ok I agree that you can definitely negotiate. But to imply that "Kidney" is the deal breaker is a bit strange.
We don't even know if he's a can't miss to play in the NHL, he's still very much a lottery ticket.
those guys might get you a few hockey sticks not a top 6 center in hes primeKidney was the best player in the Q this year. Don't tell me Dumais was. Kidney was a force offensively and defensively.
I have no issue with dealing prospects, but none of our top10 should he traded in a deal where we can just wait til summer 2024 to sign the guy.
Farrell, Dobes, Mailloux, Kidney, Beck, Hutson. Roy, Mesar, Engstrom
Should not be included in any deal. Mysak. struble, kapanen, go for it...
We have plenty of #5/6 tweener D-man in our pipeline. It's not a valuable commodity. If Zamula and Attard were in the habs system they both would have had more ice time and points than Harris this year for MTL.Mediocre? Jordan Harris will be a regular top 4 D two years from now.
