Goodrow made a huge difference on face offs and the forecheck. The 4th was buzzing all night. Crazy that we also have Blais and Hunt who should really be in over Reaves. Deep team.
The Carolina Hurricanes have never lost a game 7 as the Carolina Hurricanes
No team in NHL history has advanced to a conference final without winning a road game
I feel like the Pitt series was aesthetically much more enjoyable. This Carolina series is extreme. Reminds me of the old Devils series’. So exhausting. For no good reason. Carolina is afraid of getting into a real hockey game. I could see them actually losing players because they stifle talent. Keep costs down, I guess. Good for them if it works but I don’t think it will.Yeah, subjectively I'm not a fan. It can work and if the Rangers won a Cup doing it, then great, but it's hard to watch at times.
I like a good cagey affair and I like my deflection goals but I also like variety.
That's why I said this was my favorite playoffs. The old teams were probably better but they played game 1 of this series for like, entire series. If I had to watch one more 2-1 game against the Capitals I was giving it all up and becoming a monk.
Just not from the referee's.Need a Game 1 type performance tomorrow night. Not a Game 5 type performance.

Can’t use goalie interference as a strategy anymore thoughSo maybe it's a different league but that offensive strategy seemed to be the strategy that won the Kings their two cups. As I said 2022 isn't 2012 or even 2014 but it wasn't long ago that @Machinehead was arguing that this is the way you win in the playoffs.
I’m pretty sure this is what everyone thought about Goodrow too.He is not coming back this season.
Don’t think he’s even close to being cleared. Would love to know otherwise but my sense is he doesn’t become an option for a good while. Certainly not this series. If Blais is cleared, does GG have the balls to swap him with Reaves? Goodrow coming back forced him to fix his Motte-Kakko mistake. Can we go into a game 7 and give ourselves the best chance for an upset?
Game 7 and anything can happen but let's stop making it more difficult on ourselves.
Nah. Apples and oranges. I’m sorry to say.I’m pretty sure this is what everyone thought about Goodrow too.

If Carolina does it, it’s savvy “gamesmanship”.Can’t use goalie interference as a strategy anymore though![]()
They don't stifle talent or keep costs down. They spend to the cap, so where are they keeping costs down? Not paying Dougie $9M? Watering down the beer?I feel like the Pitt series was aesthetically much more enjoyable. This Carolina series is extreme. Reminds me of the old Devils series’. So exhausting. For no good reason. For the last four or so games, Goodrow was walking around in a boot and most posters were saying no way he’s coming back, “he’s got a broken ankle!” Just like what you’re doing…speculating. Unless he misspoke yesterday, Gross tweeted that both, Goodrow and Blais were available last night.Goodrow missed 3 and a half weeks. Blais hasn't played since mid-November
Play a rigid system and have great regular season success. We’ll see how it works long term. They don't stifle talent or keep costs down. They spend to the cap, so where are they keeping costs down? Not paying Dougie $9M? Watering down the beer?
How do they stifle talent? Did they tell Aho, a second rounder who scored 37 this season, to stop scoring in the playoffs?
Do better.

I had no idea. I assumed Blais was way further off. Thought he was in a non-contact jersey basically rehabbing. That’s a big surgery hw had. If he’s available, that’s great. The team with a healthy Blais is so deep. Not sure who he replaces though. Kakko? For the last four or so games, Goodrow was walking around in a boot and most posters were saying no way he’s coming back, “he’s got a broken ankle!” Just like what you’re doing…speculating. From the guy on the corner that talks to himself and claims the metal plate in his head is actually the government trying listen to his thoughts.Where are you hearing this? I suppose that number sounds reasonable but can the rangers afford it?
Replacing Kakko when line 3 works best with all 3 kids just to keep Reaves seems fireable.I had no idea. I assumed Blais was way further off. I called it out during the game, that their viewing party was too small for a TGIFridays.Am I the only one who laughed when they showed that bar celebrating Carolina's first goal?
Other teams had fans close to their arenas for a viewing party, and for Carolina...some hole in the wall spitoon situated in Raleigh.
Their system is based on pressure and not turning pucks over at the blue line. I don't see that as rigid, just smart.Play a rigid system and have great regular season success. We’ll see how it works long term.
