Trying to figure what Smith was thinking at the end of the game there. He wants to fight a guy that Tom Wilson is afraid of. Let’s hope him and that moron Tony try something early or maybe get under his skin because that’s easy and he is stupid

Whatever happens in game 7, they have exceeded expectations this season. Its all experience at this point. This undoubtedly helps Laf Chytil Kakko take that next step that makes us a serious contender the next two seasons
Shesty, Miller, Fox, and Lindgren also grew by leaps and bounds this postseason. All the team's youth has showed up. Even Schneider shows some promise.

this is based on observation and probably isn't actually backed up by anything, but...

man I dislike Carolina's gameplan and think it's also a big reason they struggle to move on further in the playoffs

so much of their offense is based around "control the puck, take a ton of shots, something will go in". They do have talent but their default is "throw pucks at the net, into bodies, whatever" and is just ugly to watch.

They're a good solid all around team but it's just hard to go far with that as your main offensive style. "playoff hockey" still means you need to make skill plays, not JUST go for tips and rebounds

Also, while they are a good defensive team, they do seem to break down a bit if you basically punch them in the mouth. The Rangers have had success when they've just played fast and aggressive. It keeps Carolina from being on the cycle all game long, creates more breakdowns from them, and the Rangers get more good scoring chances. This isn't revolutionary, this works against most teams, but people are just kinda used to seeing carolina dominate the possession game and turns out if you pressure them they're like any other team and will give up chances

Good seeing you around here again.

And I totally agree. Work those guys down low and cycle and grind them down and they'll cough up prime chances.

I agreed with Vally in the post game. Make the most of the special teams opportunities and get bodies in front. The Rangers' biggest equalizer is in goal. Survive the 1st period and go into it tied or up and I like the Rangers' chances.

Great game, thanks for coming back, Goodrow. I think his return was huge.

I also liked Igor's penalty. The Rangers were very close to getting scored on and a fresh 4 man unit would have been better.

I meant to post this as well.

Absolutely needed a stoppage there. Had a TV timeout coming so we got time to regroup as well.

Who knows how the game goes if we gave up a goal there

Giannone just said Sam will be announcing Game 7??

Sam calls them on the radio with Dave after the MSG game coverage finishes after Round 1, I think.

Such a great win and amazing to see Fil Chytil show what he has always looked like he is capable of. The breakaway through centre ice the goalie stopped was as impressive as the ones that went in.

Game 7 here we come!!

Panarins goal was huge, Igor and Chytil. Anyone who says Panarin has been a no show in the playoffs is a goddamn fool.

LOL wut.

He's been trash for 99% of the time he's been on the ice these playoffs, including tonight other than his goal.

Brady Skjei's goal never happens if Panarin actually attempted to play defense once in a blue moon.
