They are leading but I am disgusted. So weak on the puck. Unable to create separation. Most shots are weak and from far away.

I think Bragin has to rethink things and invite Abramov+Sergachev to the December camp. Also bribing/begging the Predators to release Kamenev would be a good idea.

Going back to the summer show case, Dal Colle can't finish any of Marner's plays, what happened to the guy?

Rykov gets physically manhandled and positionally beat.

Announcer: I love his game.

I mentioned Will Bitten in Brock Otten's thread of OHL prospects this weekend. And he has not disappointed tonight. He won't be under the radar if he continues to be noticed like he has tonight. This kid has a lot of jam. Looking like a 1st rd possible prospect if he can keep this level of play up.

Canada easily wins the series in 4 games - it was never even close. The score was closer tonight simply because the goaltending was better. We talked about the fact that winning isn't as important as getting a look at a wide range of players, but Bragin honestly can't like what he saw. The defense was really awful - even by Russian standards, and that is saying something. The forwards were slow, and except for Pilipenko and Vovchenko, both shrimps who rarely get in good scoring position, very poor stickhandlers and passers..

Some years are better and worse than others, and this looks like a year when a 5th place finish might be a good accomplishment for Russia. I know there are a couple of guys waiting in the wings, like Kamenev and Svechnikov, but those guys aren't even close to being good enough to make a difference in a tournament that is going to have some really talented teams. Maybe next year!

Although results here and at 4-Nations have been discouraging I think Bragin can still ice a good team.

Bragin's abilities are being under rated here

I think the team's not a offensive force this time, but playing the right way they can medal.

Too much over reaction here.

I agree, Russia was missing many talented players and playing on big ice will give them a higher level of comfort. I also believe Samsonov can be the difference between the team getting out early and competing for a medal.

Russia is lacking in big, skilled bodies - Svechnikov, Kamenev, Guryanov, Korshkov are not available. Not enough power and explosiveness on this roster. Too many passengers.

Also no Shaprizyanov, Sergeev to play defense in this game which is a shame.

The forwards are atrocious. Vovchenko and Pilipenko have shown good flashes at times, Dergachev too. Other than that, bad, just bad. Protapovich is horrifically bad, yet he is getting power play time? He was terrible at the summer camp, not sure what possessed Bragin to bring him.

On a positive note, Rykov has been a nice surprise, has dynamic skills.

I'm a big Dal Colle fan, but his play so far this season has earned him the right to sit this one out. too bad..it is his final year of eligibility. I would think he has to be nursing some kind of nagging injury. but no excuses, he simply hasn't been good enough this season. The good news - Spencer Watson.

and I don't see any reason why Chychrun should be on this team as a double underager. An invite to December camp for the experience, but that's about it.
