It going to be curious to see whom DS gets at the trade Deadline. Fredric Coyle Brassau and any other Udfa not resigning. But don’t think they going to get too much for those guys

The one guy that you have to watch is Geekie
Why Geekie? He is going to hit 23-25 goals this year. If you trade him to contender it will be for a low 1st round pick and prospect. No way I trade him for that.

Is there anyone from STL that would be helpful assuming TF is sent
Jake Neighbors who I have love in my heart for the 1 protected (guessing 10) & UFA to be Frederic

Neighbors is 21 or 22 and profiles 30 goals (got 27 last season) …..reminds me watching him from day 1 from the TJ Oshie tree

Freddy injury may have killed but this guy is legit top 6 and jersey seller

The pro shop better get extra jerseys

By low right now - hoping Monty doesn’t like him

So why would the Blues trade a younger, better player at the same position who is signed for 2 more years for Trent Frederic?
The first round pick

If we trade Geekie we might get a first and the guy could be ready before 2030 while Geekie could be scoring 25-30 a season

Yeh makes sense

This season was cursed. They aren’t as bad as this record shows, but this roster is clearly lacking top end talent up front. So imo this season will go down as a turning point. If they’d been better than a middling team we’d see no roster changes.

Move out dead weight, acquire picks/ prospects. Make a hockey trade or three.

Geekie • 1C • Pastrnak
Zacha • Lindholm • 2RW
Marchand • Poitras • 3RW

FWIW I have zero issue trading Marchand or Geekie as long as the return is 1st round picks or better

They are minor league stats.

Not a big deal.

Patrick Brown's numbers are 16-24-40 in Providence, he can barely generate a shot on goal when playing in Boston.

True, but Brown is also 32 with not insignificant NHL experience. There is a subset of folks here who shit on our prospects no matter what, and one of the common criticisms is that they don't put up enough points in the AHL. That has been said about Lysell quite recently. So here we have a guy that is essentially a PPG player in the AHL which is what "all good prospects should do" and it's just AHL points and Lettieri does it, Brown does it, so it doesn't really signify anything. Except for Lysell it does? Not saying you are that guy necessarily, but @shelbysdad has a point here.

And they are very good stats

And they are not minor league, AHL is a professional league

We know what Brown is
A decent AHL guy without the skills to play in NHL

To me, AHL stats mean very little. One way or the other.

More significant is how long a player has been down there. Sure, mistakes are made with some players, but it's rare. Certainly, the Bruins have had high hopes for both Merkulov and Lysell. The fact that they haven't really stuck in the NHL yet, while guys like Lohrei and Poitras have, says a lot.

If Donny gets 3 picks in the 1st round I'll pick it for him. I'll follow red line report to get it done. The end. Its not complicated.
I’d be interested in seeing what the Bruins picks would have been if they’d taken the Red Line consensus at each spot since 2014.

I know 2015 would depress the shit out of me, but not sure how it would play out from there.

I think they cant go wrong with either McAvoy or Pasta.
FWIW I do think they can go wrong with Pasta.

It’ll be an unpopular opinion but IMO Marchand does a lot of things I wouldn’t necessarily want from a captain. Slow, lazy changes, stupid penalties, etc. I love the player and have no issue with him as captain given our choices, but Id much rather it be a player like Bergeron still.

So IMO, pasta has similar issues. Questionable commitment to defense, lazy penalties, etc.

I’d vote McAvoy, with the caveat that he’s also a guy I’d trade since it seems like he’s stalled as a player. He gives you glimpses but it’s just not going the way we’d hoped.

Overall I think this organization is in trouble in the leadership department and I think it absolutely shows. From the top down.

I have been saying his name all year when they play them in the GDT. Everyone else was on about thier big guys, that was unrealistic. JJ Peterka is fast and scored on us at will this year. He is getting a lot of notice, Sweeney should have tried for him

Not sure what it would take for a blockbuster where we get Peterka and Cousins, salary would need to go back and they would want at least a young guy probably Poitras involved.

Pasta is single-handedly willing this team to where they are, they'd be in near last place without him. He's busting his ass the entire game, sorry if he commits a little less to defense while he's the entire team's offense.
He's vocal, and clearly the guys love him.

Let's give it to McAvoy because he throws a big hit once in awhile.

The Avalanche having flipped both goalies they started the season with as well as their star winger while the Bruins still haven't made a trade despite being a worse team is objectively hilarious.
I mean, how many substantive trades have been made by Detroit, Columbus, Ottawa, Montreal, Philly, Calgary, Utah, St Louis... all teams in the wild card hunt and desperate to break the streak and get it.

I don't think 2 years in the AHL for Lysell says much of anything. That's fairly standard. Marchand and Krejci did two years. I think it's disappointing that Lysell hasn't earned a significant call-up yet. That says more than 2 years in the minors. The one disclaimer I guess would be that Lysell is a year younger than most junior players that spend 2 years in the minors. He got out of junior a year early because of his Euro status.

AHL is the minors.... Junior players are also professionals.
