Tretiak looks bad. His positioning is rough and he over compensates his lateral movements on almost every move. It's kind of like he doesn't know he's playing on ice.

So, how much politics will have to go on for Tretiak to be on the WJC team for Russia lol.

Just my guess here. But I think Bragin will keep playing him because he doesn't give a crap about this series. Also enough rope for Tretiak and his backers to hang themselves.

Tretiak can do his nepotism at SSS level, but I doubt at WJC...especially with Bragin as coach.
I suspect Samsonov and Georgiev will be the goalies at WJC (who are subsequently part of the team at the 4-nations at the moment).

Tretiak looks pretty bad, especially on the 3rd goal but still WHL looks really good. A lot of pace in the game, quick team that gets in on the forecheck. WHL are winning a ton of puck battles. Defensively especially they are quick on the break-out, Juulsen and Guhle have really impressed me. Juulsen I sort of knew what to expect but he's been better that my expectations so far. Guhle looks really good, he moves well around the ice, great first pass, and a long reach when keeps him positioned well. Sawchenko has looked perfect, he is #3 goalie so far for me but he's an underager so who knows if he'll take #1 spot.

Couldn't believe Consentino was trying to hype up a Russian comeback/uprising when they scored 2 quicks, this is purely the WHL care level going down dramatically once it was 6-0.

They should take him as the #3. He's in the running to be the starter for 2017, so that experience would be a bonus.

Disappointed that I couldn't see the game. Did any Canadian defencemen stand out in a good or bad way?

The weakest were the 98's which is expected
I thought for the most part they played well
Making 40 foot passes is going to catch up with them tonight
Jumping up in the play and quick puck movement seemed their strong suit
