He seems like a better prospect than Logan Brown. More explosive and skilled. Should be a top 10 favorite IMO. If GMs reached for KK and Barrett Hayton back in 2018, I don't see why Geekie wouldn't go top 6-7.

1 goal. Needs to turn it up to help his 2022 draft position.
You have to keep in mind Geekie (and Savoie) is not being relied on the way most most other top-flight CHL kids are in their draft year. I think he’s showing more than enough to be seen as this year’s Dach and there’s no way he doesn’t go top-10. On the contrary, I think he is a huge dark horse candidate to go higher than anybody would expect based on his stats.

Hope so. Savoie's numbers have really dropped off but the team is so loaded... there is only one puck.

So hockey prospect.com has this guy ranked 2 OA. I guess they don't have they same concerns about his skating that some other scouts have.

My take on his skating from a small sample that I've seen is that he's a great skater when he's flipped the engagement switch to ON. When he's reading the play, waiting for an opportunity or just generally not as engaged as he should be, then his skating stride looks very different and hilariously weak. This suggests to me that he's worked on his power skating stride and made good progress but that he hasn't adopted the change in a full-time, all-scenario way yet.

I think he has the potential to be the best player from this draft and I'd pick him 2 OA.

Again, I haven't seen a lot of him, so don't take me too seriously.

I feel his acceleration is not the strongest but once he gets going he can go quite well. Similar kind of strength in skating when compared to Slafkovsky.

Skating is probably gonna be just fine for him. My only concern is that I am not sure if I see enough high end tools with him. He has size advantage in the league where he plays and he uses it well but his playmaking/shot is probably not absolute high end skills.

I am 100% Geekie will play in NHL. I am projecting him to be a pretty good second line center based on what I have seen (that's not a lot though.). If everything hits with him, he could maybe be Hertl type player in NHL but I am not sure he will be that good.

I think there is more interesting high end skill cases in this draft than Geekie but he is most likely at least inside top 10. Can't see him being outside of top 10 simply because of his physical advantages. You wont go horribly wrong tho if you want him at top 2.

The goal was a gift from Mateychuk as he put it into his own net. The assist was excellent and he rumbled around a bit in the third including blowing Cole Jordan up with a bodycheck behind the net.
