C Clayton Keller - Boston University, NCAA (2016, 7th, ARI)

Could he make the jump to NHL next season?

Certainly skilled enough. I think the coyotes are a pretty smart group and will hopefully let him continue to develop physically. They sent Strome back because they felt he wasn't physically ready enough. I would assume the same for Keller too.

He should have a solid chance. It is believed he only plans on doing one year at BU, then play in the NHL next year.

Pretty sure the plan was to keep Dylan Strome up, but he just couldn't produce to the level required. Having both Chychrun and Crouse up right now shows they aren't being that cautious (although they are both man-children).

Strome's biggest issue was that he didn't have the strength to off-set his skating. Keller is a high-end skater, if guys like Marner, Konecny, Fabbri, and Ehlers have been able to crack the NHL at 19 in recent year, I would think Keller has a strong chance.

Has 11p in 8g since the new year. He has another goal tonight. He leads BU in points despite playing 8 less games.

Now has an assist too. Beautiful assist on a Fabbro goal. 5 minutes left in the first

Any Canadians wanting to watch him he will be on TSN2 at 8pm playing BC. Selfishly hoping he gets shut out, but doubting it will happen.

Watched pretty much the whole game while working on some personal stuff and he played great, without being extremely spectacular (which you don't necessarily want anyway. It's in doing the little/unnoticed things that you become the best, according to me). Nifty goal on the PK as he escaped from the Dmen and slipped the puck five-hole on the BC goaltender.

Thanks again for the heads-up on the game being broadcasted, I think BU vs Harvard will be broadcasted as well next monday. It'd be interesting to see how he does against (correct me if I'm wrong), more adversity.

No problem, didn't catch much due to it being on against the Leafs. I would assume TSN is going to pick up the 2nd half of the Bean Cup. TSN has made an effort in recent years to focus on College Hockey since they lost the national TV rights for the NHL and they have no CHL rights.

'Focus on college hockey' is way too strongly put. They basically just air a few rivalry games, the Beanpot tournament, and the Frozen Four. There are no dedicated college hockey experts like there are in the States or that they, or Sportsnet, have for junior hockey in Canada. All they've done is broadcast the games from the American feeds. And I think it is just the fact that it fits more nicely into their network since they already air NCAA basketball and College Football, rather than getting more hockey because they lost it.

Anyway, for Keller, nothing really much to add anymore. He's an exceptional talent, has shown he can score at any level, and I think he made the right call in going to BU to work on the more finer things like adding strength, his defensive game, work without the puck, and playing C.

BU should be done for the year. Since they lost to BC in their conference playoffs they dont get a bid in the NCAA tournament. In the 3-2 loss Keller had a goal and an assist.

Wrong, the'll be an at-large qualifier. They're currently 6th in the Pairwise rankings so they'll likely come in to the tournament as a 2 seed.
