Yes he looks like a nhl goalie in Ahl right now, I’m wondering if he enjoys being here in this role because IMO he is probably better than half the current NHL backups right now.
I wouldn't worry, his relationship with Lou goes back many years and Lou gave him this opportunity to play when no one else would touch him. He's the insurance policy for one of our two going down to injury this year and I would bet his quite comfortable with the arrangement. In all likelihood, he's set for life with money anyhow.

Not sure if he’s even played recently but Soshnikov has no points in three games.

Just another example of Lou going back to who he thought was a viable NHL player and
Not relying on his scouting group to enhance the playing personnel.

A guy brought in for $750,00 to try to win a forward spot and you're throwing this post up???

Lou tried Soshnikov. It hasn't worked. He's in the AHL. This is not something to beef about Lou over. Sheesh.

Taking a quick glance at the AHL stats and standings, the B-Isles are in 3rd place, two points out of 1st place. They currently are tied for 4th in the AHL in goals scored with 73. Not too shabby after 20 games.

Some next level advances by our youngsters including Bolduc, Ishakov and Dufour. Raty is doing fine along with Holmstrom and Durandeau. It’s been a very good year thus far.

The disappointment list is thankfully much smaller but Skarek has to be at the top. I was hoping he could show enough this year to be a viable IB behind Sorokin next year. Looks like we’ll probably just retain Varly at a few more rubles that we’d like to spend.

Baby Isles split their weekend winning 5-1 on Saturday with goals by Ishakov and Dufour then a 3-1 loss today with Bolduc netting the lone goal.

On a better note, the baby Rags lost both of their AHL games and their latest uber hyped goalie prospect, Dylan Garand, got pulled today in the second period after letting in 3 goals in less than 6 minutes. His save percentage for the game was .700

Driving back all night from Scranton to Bridgeport for a short turnaround 3PM start is a tough ask, but it’s the nature of the beast. I’m happy they didn’t get blown out today.

For a moment there I misread your post and thought you lost a bet and you were the one traveling from Scranton to Bridgeport.

Any word on Hutton? The guy hasn’t played since the end of October and wasn’t hurt in that game AFAIK.

I think he is now considered a "vet" so he may not be eligible to play all games? I know there are some rules there but yea a whole month is suspect.

He’s played 163 pro games , much less than the 260 veteran rule . I don’t think there’s an age stipulation on that rule just based on GP.

Most nights they’re playing with 6 LD as Ladue’s out as well.

He must’ve fallen into “Lou’s Black Hole of Injuries”.

Hope his wife knows where he is…:)

4-2 loss to Hershey tonight. Ish had a goal. Was watching the game during isles intermission. Looks like Ish got his confidence back, Was skating hard and very noticeable, fun to watch.. After going pointless in 8 games he has 4 points in his last 4 games (3 G 1 A)

They really needed this. They have been floundering for quite a while. Dufour, Raty, Ishakov, and Bolduc will be NHL regulars on the 2024-2025 Islanders. Great job by The Godfather on later round picks. I just hope he doesn’t trade one of them at the deadline.

I'd be interested to see how Dufour handles himself in a fight. So far, I can't remember him having one here or in the last two years of junior.

Get McLean signed to an ELC!!

Good on MacLean jumping in to protect Raty, who shouldn't be expected to fight Beecher. MacLean wasn't taking any of Beecher's BS or antics and gave him a quick reminder. Guy might think twice next time before trying to jump a skill player. The camera angle isn't great, but it looked like Beecher didn't even give Raty time to drop both gloves, his stick, square up, etc.

Freakin A Ruslan can play in the NHL right freaking now. You should see the Goal tonight.

Just saw it, that was like Barzal at this best!

Thanks for the heads up on that highlight. I found it and posted it above.

Nice to talk about good things on the farm. I still think he’s too small to make it in the NHL. Hope he proves me wrong.
