I think he’s a winger if anything, they kept him around which surprised me so there is someone in organization that believes there is potential.
They kept Bellows around too. You're needed until you're not. Then you're disposable.

Koivula has had enough looks in the NHL and could never chip in with a goal. I think his final chapter is being written this season. don't be surprised if Andy Andreoff is called up as an injury replacement before Otto.

When I first started on here people were very positive on Otto? He's not had much of a crack at it.
He's had cracks at it. Just never did anything outstanding enough to catch anyone's eye. Same issue with Grant Hutton. Sometimes the window closes on a player before he has a chance to impress.

Hutton looked like a decent 3rd pairing d last year when he was up. Didn’t make too many mistakes which is what you want for a defensive dman. Problem is we are deep at RD and signs are pointing to Mayfield re-signing.

Still don’t know what injury he has or how long he’ll be out.

BPT has so many players that who knows who will be in the lineup on a given night. Interesting juggling act with that roster.

B-Isles got Paul LaDue back last night. If Cholowski was a healthy scratch, then Hutton is now the only injured player. Someone may be going back to Worcester this week.

They gave him a second year also, I found that very odd.

Raty with the game winner in OT on a nice breakaway goal to give baby isles the 3-2 win.
Goals: Dufour (Raty) Brown (Bolduc, Bardreau)
Skarek with 45 saves. He actually played really good for once.

Ish didn't play. Not sure if healthy scratch or not. Maybe it will be a good reset for him since he went dead cold.

A day off Friday worked wonders for Dufour.

It’s a long season. Young guys like Dufour and Ishkakov aren’t accustomed to 3 in 3s. Besides, we have a glut of available healthy players again.

Maybe Lou thought it would deter waiver claims ?

He looked like he did not like being scratched based on his reaction after scoring that goal. Competitive kid. That’s what you want to see .

Big game from Skarek. He looked dialed in for the whole game.Lot of rookies on that defense yesterday though… woof!

Seems his focus wanes when we have the puck so when there’s a turnover in his zone he doesn’t come up with the big save often. He could learn a lot from Schneider who always seems in the right position to make the save more often when there’s a turnover.

I wonder if it would almost be easier playing in front of an NHL defense like ours.

Skarek’s at a crossroads here as his path to the NHL is blocked by the fact that Varly is most likely coming back to backup Sorokin. He needs to step up his game if he wants a future with another team in the NHL as he’s got a shot to be at least an NHL backup.

Most likely, we’ll see him go the other way in a trade package for that goal scoring winger that Lou’s getting for us.

Tikkanen also has upside as well from his size, Lennox also will turn pro after this year.

I wonder if the Isles will give sevigny an NHL contract? Or if they are worried another nhl team may swoop in and give him an elc.

Now trade Bailey!
Funny thing is, that I think many of the criticisms that go Bailey's way will ultimately be made about Holmstrom too.

At least Holmstrom is a better skater and hopefully he becomes a full-time roster player. Even if he is nothing but a successful two-way third liner... historically that's still solid value in that draft spot.

Have Schneider found his game once again? I’ve not watched any Bridgeport games this season, but his stats is pretty good.

Bolduc needs a full season of professional hockey in the minors before coming a legit option, and Aho and Salo need to play themselves out of a spot.

Yes he looks like a nhl goalie in Ahl right now, I’m wondering if he enjoys being here in this role because IMO he is probably better than half the current NHL backups right now.
