I wonder how good Mo Seider would look insulated behind Makar-Toews and playing minutes with actual great players like Nuke, Mac and Rants.

Very hard to properly compare players when one is on a team which could be a dyansty and the other is playing heavy minutes with Jake Walman and Pius Suter.
If Seider were on the Avs, he’d lose most of his PP time and about 4 minimum of ice time per game… he’d be unlikely to increase his goal totals or his number of assists. His shot blocks and hits would also decline.

His +/- is likely to improve a lot. Same with corsi.

I think we’d all agree that Seider currently gets a lot more PP opportunities and more ice time than Byram, while playing on a considerably worse team.

Only Byram did it in half the games played and virtually no PP1 time.

The more shots you get the more chance you have at scoring no?, shots and blocked shots combined with Seiders skill make him quite valuable. Which is the point you and your fellow fan there don't seem to get.

Nice cheapshot, though I know from your past posts you've never actually watched Hughes play, so taking anything serious that you say about him is pointless......

Allergic to contact is probably wrong phrasing. He is allergic to initiating contact. Maybe it's his coaches telling him not to, maybe it's him not wanting to. Either way, it's a flaw not a feature.

Opened thread to read about a good young player only to see that it’s turned into a “Seider is better” thread. Same thing continuously happened last season. It’s almost like there can’t be multiple good players.

Where's the fun in that?

I think Byrams ego is too big for that.

If he goes long term it'll be for 7+ IMO, which simply put the Avs can't afford today. They need to bridge him from a cap perspective but also for the sake of injury concerns.
Is he an arrogant person like that?

We have seen players with injury history take longer deals with lower cap hits in the past. Is that something that he wouldn't consider?

I mean he’s feisty, but the only story I’ve seen of him being arrogant was a chirp he made back in the WHL.

“Buddy, in two years you’re going to be working a 9-to-5 and I’m going to be making 9-2-5. Keep your f***ing mouth shut.”

I’m not even sure that counts as arrogant, because that’s a world-class chirp.

That's pretty tame compared to some chirps, lol. This season I heard one guy respond to a fight challenge with "I've been drafted and you shouldn't even be here. Send someone more important."

When you’re 17 heading into the draft at the end of your season, projected to be a high first rounder… And some 20 year old WHL nobody player in his last hockey season of his life is talking trash to you. And you tell him that “a year from now he’ll be working 9 to 5” and you’ll be making “$nine two five”($925k)… you’re a world class chirper.

I think it will. Definitely a friendly bridge incoming.
From your lips. 21 year old defenders with a Stanley Cup ring and scoring chops will have some leverage. His agent will probably decide if it’s friendly or not. This could go either way. Kid is really freaking good. And his agent knows it just like Sakic does.

While I agree, my comment was more about leverage, which typically the team holds more of in the first post-ELC contract. Plus with his injury scares, and sustainability of his scoring rate, I certainly think it’s quite possible that that they agree to a “show/me” contract.

Enjoy that while it lasts.

You make it sound like Seider reached his full potential

He was healthy and played all 20 games in the playoffs last year. Really don't care how many games he misses in the regular season if he's healthy in the playoffs.

You generally get a better picture on how good a player is over a long period of time. I'll pass my judgment for Bowen when I see what he can do in a full season.
