Bill Guerin investigated for alleged abuse

What's the case? What law?

I posted 3 sources. One major news, one from an employment specific related lawfirm. All said it's perfectly legal to be a dick to your employees.

I've provided evidence. You haven't. Show your work.

Every succesful case I've ever seen has a protected class related reason, that it was successful. Which is why I keep mentioning protected class.
It falls under the purview of harassment.

Why are you acting like Guerin is potentially going to jail
I'm not.

I've been hoping he gets fired for 2 years.

But the poster I'm arguing with is misinformed or lying.

It's legal to be a dick at work. Most companies will fire you for it, but it's legal.

"Maybe" is an interesting word in all this.

I mean, it allows that it really might depend, but just seeing it stark terms- that’s usually a legit complaint, depending on the particular soul-crushing capitalist enterprise you earn profit for.

And harassment only works if it's against a protected class. Round and round we go.

Provide a case or provide a statue.

If provided evidence. You've provided your false opinion.
I’m retired and sitting on my couch at 10 pm. Im not going onto nexus Lexi’s or Wes law. Your evidence is articles, not law.

It is not legal to create a “hostile work environment” in the USA. I’ve seen managers neutered and have their ability to interact with employees revoked after the company was sued and lost.

So you didn't read them. Good on you for forfeiting.

One was an employment lawyer that specializes in these cases advising what to do as the employee... not relevant at all.

Ok?
Not ok. Cites no laws or case law, and is actively selling the training to prevent lawsuits.

Which is a good thing, because even lawsuits you win are expensive. I'm not saying, nor have ever said company non harassment policies are a bad thing, and the tips they give are good.

Still not illegal to be a dick.

No, but there are consequences within the private sector.

Case or statue that shows I'm wrong.

It shouldn't be hard if I'm wrong. Either it happens routinely, because there are a ton of dick bosses in the world.

Or it's not illegal. 50 states, decades of case law.

Where has verbal abuse without a protected class being involved ever won.

Well considering specifically harassing a protected class is the crime of discrimination, I'd challenge you to find a legal case involving harassment period. I'm pretty sure "harassment" isn't even a crime in most places.

Sure. I'm glad we agree. It's not illegal to be a dick. BG I'd certainly a dick, who we both wish would be fired.

Consequences good and bad for every action.

You can face a lawsuit for being a dick. You won't lose a lawsuit for being a dick, unless it's against a protected class with evidence.

Glad we agree.

Edit: although I think there are laws based on sexual harassment that don't fit under the discrimination aspect.

Glad we agree.
You’re simplifying “being a dick” to be all inclusive of any behavior short of physical.

Because it's pretty much accurate.

Standard as long as its not protected class related, employers do this all the time in order to stop unemployment claims forcing people to quit instead of laid off/fired.

If you have a paper trail, in some states you can fight and get unemployment with this type of scenerio, but you won't have a civil claim.

Verbal assault/verbal intimidation.

Words that have no legal meaning.

I mean, there are laws against Threats of Violance that could fit and make you right if there was any evidence of tbat. but that's all criminal code.
So, mere words against non-protected classes can or can’t result in civil liability or even criminal guilt?

Sure. I guess if BG threatened to kill Heydt he could be held legally liable...

I'm 100% sure that's what you've been trying to articulate in this thread, as opposed to the general yelling and bullying you were talking about... /s

Glad I could find your argument for you.
