2 of those guys produce exclusively on the power play.

We seriously dressed 5 guys tonight who should be 4th liners on most teams. Talk about top heavy. Not a good recipe for long term success.

Side note...when does Gauthier get a shot in the top 6. This kid is working his ass off & skates like every shift might be his last.
So, a guy who has been a fringe NHL'er finally starting to understand his role and how he can become a full-time NHL fourth liner and you want to move him out of that role into a top 6?
This isn't a wise move and is simply throwing shit onto a wall to see if it sticks.

This. Gauthier improves his forechecking and he is a stud 4th liner. He goes into the top six where he will be overwhelmed and he becomes the next whipping body.

Hit 4 posts, outshot them 16-3 in the 3rd,and I still expect more.Good on Gauthier getting that goal, kid deserved it.Wouldn't mind seeing him swapped with Goodrow on line 2
None of Vesey, Goodrow, Gauthier, should ever be in the top 6. Thats our whole problem right now and its actually been our problem since a while going back to Fast, Hunt, etc etc. We only became a good team last year when we got Copp and Vatrano. This trying to spread the lines out isn't working, and unless Kravtsov is hurt he should be in the lineup trying to fill in the top 9 so he either gets used to playing in the top 6 or plays with Laf and Chytil. Playing 4th liners in the top 6 is the problem not the solution.

I don’t understand why they are so bad 5 on 5
4th liners in the top 6 and our top 5 on 5 line last year had Strome on it. The lines need a rejig, panarin and Trochek doesn't work.

Watching Krieder stand in front of an open net and look to pass back to a teamate, is the epitome of what's wrong with this team's mindset offensively.

I love Panarin, but his offensive game is way too abstract. I wish we could clone him, and trade the other player for a forward that can finish.

I agree with some of this, I think running Vesey and Goodrow in the top six is a bad idea and the classic trap coaches fall into. They throw a plug into the top six to shake things up when there are some bumps int he road, the plug plays well for 1 or 2 games and then the coach thinks "I've got it! Obviously this guy brings some grit and jam to the line that needs it!" and then they go invisible and suck and constantly kill the play after that but the coach keeps it going because obviously that line just needed some grit and jam on it.
But no, now you have a bottom sixer dragging down the line.

They should have stuck with Kakko and Laf in the top six and they should go back to it. Laf especially looks kind of lost once again after switching back and forth on the wings. I know I know that line has gotten good even strength minutes but honestly I just don't quite like their ability to consistently put pucks in the net and the winger talent would be better used with the Rangers best players.

But move those guys up and I don't think the rest of the depth is so terrible. Blais, Vesey, Goodrow, Kravtsov...those guys can all do some work on a third line and it's not so bad.

IMO they need to just run with their talent if they want to get out of the scoring slump. Load up the top six, play them a lot, let the 3rd line take some easy minutes and try to setup Chytil or something.

I went to bed after the 2nd period, been dealing with a physical issue that has made me lose sleep over the last week. I needed to sleep last night, and finally got a good night of sleep. lol.

Anyway happy to wake up to a win, made some nice money on a 2-way parlay last night also. First round on me Dec 3rd!

I hate this teams DNA. Laughing like a bunch of idiots after that awful empty net sequence only to completely stop playing and almost let the Sharks back in. Everything wrong with this teams mindset encapsulated in the entire pathetic sequence.

Trochek is the only Forward who doesn't take a single shift off. Everyone else thinks they are so much better than they are. It's painful how bad the culture is on this team.

It would seem like the country club atmosphere has returned to this franchise.

What a shame
