Before I rant for a bit, a win is a win and im happy (obviously) that they won. Thank god. However!

Even with open looks on a f***ing empty net this stupid f***ing team was over passing the puck. Holy shit. And thank god Fox finally buried it because it was obviously very necessary.

And with the MSG propaganda machine pumping his tired all night, Trouba rewards them by gifting the Sharks a goal late because he abandoned two wide open players in front of the net to chase a puck that looked like it might be going behind the net and getting picked off by the net. Repeat - he left two players open in front of the net, with the opponent’s goalie pulled and 15 seconds left, to chase a puck that maybe was going behind the net and in the process got his stick stuck in the net picking himself off from defending the play. What an absolutely moronic play that cost Igor the shutout (cost me 900 dollars that I would’ve made on my 20 dollar bet on Igor getting a shutout tonight) and more importantly almost cost the Rangers the game.

Btw, Vally in the postgame talking about this being a good team generating tons of chances but not scoring and making everyone wonder “why?” Well why indeed my friend. Good goalie, mediocre goalie - it doesn’t matter. This team can’t buy a goal. How much longer can we blame bad luck. It’s almost a quarter of the way into the season. And that save with 4 seconds left by Igor was huge. This stupid f***ing team giving the f***ing Sharks that chance after allowing them to score after they only had 1 shot on 18 minutes of the period. Idiotic.

Fourth line was good all night, night to see them get the goal that opened it up, if not standing as the winner. Gauthier should be a staple on the fourth line for the rest of the year. I like Blais-Carpenter-Gauthier as a line. Carpenter is fine when he’s not stapled to Reaves. He’s not too quick so you can’t have him glued to the slowest player in the league but he’s a solid enough fourth liner that if you put speed on his wings he’s totally fine. If Reaves comes in you have to drop Goodrow to 4C and scratch Carpenter.

Biggest takeaway from tonight: Igor was Igor. Let’s keep that going please.

Not to worry. It's just a matter of time until they hit their stride. Need to play the devils and they will be fine.

About as satisfying as a fart on a train.
Farting on a train is awesome. This was not
:naughty:

So many chances for so little reward, and then we basically undo any good work by playing 60 seconds of some of the stupidest hockey ever.
I'm not a huge GG fan but I just can't believe he's instructing these guys to pass so much, especially when there's empty nets on offer.

PP looked good but couldn't score, Fox was Foxing, Trouba was good until the last minute. The role-players continue to play well for what they are. Shesty made the stops that were needed.

Kreider and Mika need to be broken up. KK should be on the top line. Panarin needs to learn what the middle of the ice looks like. Could probably seperate Panarin from Trocheck without the world imploding too. The whole team needs to practice accurate shooting. Laf needs to show more than Goodrow and Vesey

It’s pretty amazing. Team plays one of its most complete games of the season. They got tons of chances and kept Igor’s night mostly quiet. And yet somehow the last 20 seconds they manage to just about fall apart like a seriously fragile group. Amazing. Can’t even enjoy what should have been a fairly satisfactory performance.

This is why I don’t love advanced stats. Possession and expected goals numbers look good. But does anyone think they just need to keep doing what they’re doing and the results will get better?

Yep, we'll just keep hitting more & more posts. Or stick handling in to the goalie's pads.

To be fair, this roster is chock full of 4th liners. Even our 1OA is playing like one.
Yeah but that is a chicken or egg situation. Imo the kid should seriously start thinking about getting away if this continues and it will. Let him play on the Colorados of this league and enjoy life.

What a frustrating team. I fear they will never grow out of the overpassing “unselfish” bullshit and they still had 45 shots!. I’ll take the W.

Igor is back. Gauthier is somehow better than lafreniere. Says a lot about both guys

Didn't people use to say that Gallant would be good for a guy like Gauth, big fast body going up the ice fast.
