And also one of the few teams in the league with 3 guys with 20 or more points.
2 of those guys produce exclusively on the power play.

We seriously dressed 5 guys tonight who should be 4th liners on most teams. Talk about top heavy. Not a good recipe for long term success.

Side note...when does Gauthier get a shot in the top 6. This kid is working his ass off & skates like every shift might be his last.

You'll get Donnie content and f***ing like it

Didn't people use to say that Gallant would be good for a guy like Gauth, big fast body going up the ice fast.
That's exactly the type of player Gallant wants & how his teams played in Vegas. This roster, however, cannot execute that style...it's on him to alter the gameplan.

Do the points count less on the PP? Goodrow can definitely play up in the lineup and is not 4th line fodder. Gauthier is where he should be and that's probably why he is playing well.

After given some time to think, the game wasn’t as bad as I thought. We’ve been complaining about how we’d rather win like last year. What is more last year than the team letting Igor down at the end so we win but he doesn’t get a shut out? We rode that formula to game 6 in the ECF.

I know, but that's who he is and he is shaping the team to play that way.

Look I love goodrow and think he is great. Vesey has been very good. You cant have both in the top six. Idc where. Idk how. Find a top six player to get panarin to stop doing cross iced passes to 2 sharks player every time. This isn't strome.

He keeps thinking he will catch a stray and yes some of his passes are beautiful, but when was the last time he shot the f***** puck? Asides from that, the whole team has to stop shooting into the chest. I swear to god, we are the best team in the league at chest shots per 60.

SHOOT LOW. OR SHOOT HIGH. We tried shooting high versus a couple teams and we missed every time. Shoot low for a rebound because Reimer is a goalie who came in with an .899 save percentage. He is 34 years old. He should not be posting a 40 save game. The finishing talent on this team is so bad.

Half the team is shooting sub 10%. We are so much better this year in every other aspect. I preach patience but its frustrating as hell.

Hit 4 posts, outshot them 16-3 in the 3rd,and I still expect more.Good on Gauthier getting that goal, kid deserved it.Wouldn't mind seeing him swapped with Goodrow on line 2
I think a third line of Kreider-Chytil-Gauthier could be effective.

Sometimes you want it to be a fart but it ends up a shart, and those are definitely seen. A full sensory experience
I knew you'd go there.

Hit the showers. That's a game misconduct!

Is there anything more boring than line talk?

We played awesome and got two points. Onto da next one.
I agree with this take more than others.

Is it frustrating to see the team having collective meltdown when it comes to scoring or protecting a lead, yup. Yup it is. But…

The team managed the puck way better in this game. When they played more north south and got pucks in deep their forecheck was considerably better than previous games. We even got quite a bit of traffic around Reimer. The PP looked dangerous. The PK looked decent to good. It was a stronger team game to the point where the three stars were actually hard to pick and felt arbitrary. All that is positive.

The negative? Team is having major confidence issues. Really shows up in key minutes. Our forwards are still making lazy mistakes that might have cost us against better teams. So, not perfect by any stretch but they deserved to win this one. If they focus on puck management, getting pucks in deep, retrieval and getting bodies to the net to take away the opposing goalies eyes then there’s a chance the season will improve. There is more than enough talent to be a successful team but they have to play as a five man unit that knows where each other is going - a mission they are not succeeding at consistently and rarely against better, deeper squads. A lot of work to do. A lot of habits to unwind. We’ll see if they can get there.
