How many times have we've seen "lower pick QB" turn out to be better than the higher pick QB? There is no guarantee that Williams/Maye will turn out to be good NFL QB's. I'm tired of trying to find a "star" QB. Just build up a roster, then plug in a guy.

Sure, but that doesn't usually happen barring scenarios where the guys above him are total busts or if the player taken above them were overreaches. And I'm not betting on the Bears striking gold.

Again, Poles isn't picking either QB1 or whichever one of QB2-5 turns out the best. The discussion if whether QB1 is statistically becoming a better player than all other QBs picked in the draft if a completely irrelevant discussion. Unless Poles is given the option to pick either Williams or Maye+Daniels+Penix+Maye.

Screw it, I'm pushing my chips to say draft MHJ and Nabers both. Be the passing force that will boom or end Fields and Tyson Bagent can Brock Purdy it up

Big line drop from -7 to -4
That line was stupid from the beginning. The Jags have been awful the past 4 weeks, and the Panthers are playing their best ball of the season (I know, that's relative).

For rooting on the Jags though...I'm totally ok with this. Trevor Lawrence and his 10 turnovers in the last 3 games can sit this one out. I'll go with his mediocre backup and take my chances there.

From what I've heard, it sounds like the Jags have been leaning hard into complex plays this season and hoping Lawrence pulls it off and wins it for them. Don't know if that's an excuse or if there is truth to it, but here's to hoping they can grind out a win at home playing simple football.

I did not realize Dusty Dvoracek was doing play by play for ESPN

Good to see he was able to find career in broadcasting after the awful injuries ruined his NFL career

And hell, all other backups are winning games this year, why not CJ Beathard as well?
I saw on a Jags mb that he is 2-10 in his career as a starter. Eek.

Another point someone made - we have the worst team in football facing the worst team in football over the last month.

????? What a weird take......The Carolina pick can't drop far enough to take the QB decision from the Bears. Even dropping to the third pick will leave Bears with the decision.
If they win this one and beat a TB team likely resting their starters, it likely drops to the 4th pick.

It can drop to 4th. But 2 things. The Jets probably will lose to New England in the final IMO. That makes it 3rd at worst if that happens.

Also - although Washington leads by .006" in SOS right now -if they lose their last 2 and Carolina wins their last 2, that might hopefully nudge Carolina's SOS a hair lower. Or so I hope.

Bowles has stated he won't rest starters in week 18 even if they win tomorrow. So that's a plus.
Good to hear, and to me that's the right approach. Tampa has been hot the last month. You don't want to slow down heading in to the playoffs. Keep that mojo going.
