True. At least Stromer is always willing and yet fans complain about him when he does fight. I wish the other skilled forwards had some bite to their game. One reason I want Goodrow in the top 9. I was talking about Panarin and Mika, would they ever stick up for a teammate?

Don't you remember Panarin getting mauled by Tom Wilson last year when he stuck up for Buch?

Well....in fairness Panarin did jump on Wilson's back .....Mika though would wait and hope for a Dman to get in before he dropped his gloves . Kreider is not that swift at dropping them .

Mika,Chytil and Miller would skate around the pile for hours, though lately i have seen a little more bite from Miller. Kreider does it when its necessary, i can't complain about him.

Kreider could likely buy himself some more room if he played a bit more vicious ....but it is just not in him...the way it is I guess . He could be a Captain....but I still like Trouba for it right now.

Kreider is our only really physical threat up front. Another reason I want Goodrow in the top 9. Kreider has been vicious at times and got a lot of game misconducts, so he toned it down a bit. Remember these

Is he though?

The only leader that would do this up front, on this Rangers team is Kreider, Goodrow that can be in the top 9. Even Toews from the Blackhawks sticks up for his teammates. And people think Panarin and Mika are good leaders. A leader sticks up for their teammates at all costs. Top 6 is way too finesse for the playoffs in the top 6 in my opinion

This game got pretty rough for a game featuring two teams that aren't division rivals. Maybe just anger and frustration boiling over from two teams that aren't making the playoffs, but I found it kind of refreshing to see that much intensity.

Yeah, it was pretty nasty for a game that basically means nothing in the standings and against non division teams. I liked it.

I honestly think the players don't want a captain and they are happy doing it by committee and thats why we dont have one

2 weeks till the deadline. Some teams in the west are starting to fall out.

Stars beat up on the Wild. Slowly giving them some room in the West. They are 1 ahead of Nashville and in 1st Wildcard spot in the West.
Devs beat the Blues in OT. 3 losses in a row for them. They picked up a point, so the Blues are now ahead of Minnesota by 4. Minnesota stays in 3rd in the Central but they are tied with Dallas with 67 pts. The Wild have a game in hand.
Canes beat the Kracken. They have a 3pt lead on the rest of the Eastern conference.
Ducks beat the Sharks in OT. Sharks are now 11pts out of the wildcard. Pretty much done. Ducks are 3 pts behind the Preds for the last wildcard. They played 3 more games though.
Kings picked up 2 pts against the Sabres. They are 1pt ahead of Vegas, and 2pts ahead of Dallas. Surprised that they are still there.
With the loss to the Rangers the Jets are now 8 points out of a Wildcard. Tough ground to make up.
Lightning beat the Hawks. They are 1pt ahead of Florida again for 1st place in the Atlantic
Knights won, but are still 1pt behind the Kings. 1pt ahead of the Stars. West is super tight!

Love these recap posts @Lion Hound . Its shocking how far the Wild have fallen. They looked like a Cup Contender before the pause, now Mike Russo is writing articles suggesting they may be sellers at the deadline. Just goes to show that the Western playoff races are far from decided and it could be a crazy 2 weeks pre-deadline. Even the Preds who looked very solid are slipping. They have big decision to make on Forsberg

Damn, Brady skjei is having quite a season...
That Carolina cup favorite team sure has a lot of former ranger players playing key roles.....
Stepan, Skjei, ADA, Fast...

Similar to when Tampa became rangers south...

Ive seen a lot of Carolina fans online hating on Skjei lmao

Jagr is an interesting case.

He wears '68' to commemorate the Prague Spring, which ended, as did his grandfather's life, in 1968 when the Soviet Union invaded Czechoslovakia.

However, maybe Jagr considered his grudge w/ the Russia avenged when the Czechs beat the Russians in 98 Nagano Olympics, or maybe he just hated Sather more, when he signed in Omsk/KHL.

I'm still salty that Joe Thornton won the Hart trophy in 2005-06. If Jagr won (and he should of, as even the players gave him the Pearson), Jagr's contract had an automatic triggered extra year/option to stay with the Rangers.
