Former 1st round pick, but about to turn 26 and played 5 games for the Ducks this season with just 13:36 ATOI.

As much as Trouba sucks, he still was 3rd among Rangers defensemen this season in ATOI both overall at at even strength and was their top PK d-man. Leaves a hole in the lineup.

Trouba was absolutely brutal least year against the Panthers and wilted in a few big moments. The move does make the Rangers better simply by not having to ice this guy on their D. The plus side is he will no longer be able to perform his “intent to injure” antics against our guys.

The rangers have seemed like mental midgets the whole season. Wonder what this does to their room? And I am sure another move is to follow.

Yeah, nothing like this is surprising. Rangers get a body and a mid round pick to dump Trouba off. Anaheim probably assumes this is a move that helps them. Maybe Trouba will feel reinvigorated being somewhere else.

It is what it is. Anyone who thought the Rangers would get anything of consequence back for Trouba was kidding themselves, especially as a full cap dump.

Completely confused by their plan. Are they going to turn around and trade away assets for another defenseman or two to fill the Trouba gap? Are they just kicking the can on the season and playing for next year while recouping assets? Are they trying to roll with that defensive unit for the rest of the year and compete?

It's funny to see a GM scramble to fix his f*** ups, he was in the front office that got Trouba from WPG so he was 100% on board, to save his job. The guy STINKS as a GM, he's probably gonna hand that money over right to Igor/Miller and some other bone headed move.

Would seem to be that there is no plan, just an attempt to get rid of problems? But hell, I never could figure out what that organization is thinking like thinking a combined 80+ year old Guy LaFluer and Marcel Dionne was good idea.
