Around The NHL #13

Had to look up what Gak meant.
Are you referencing the drug slang or the Nickelodeon term?

Isn’t the drug slang based on the Nickelodeon slime?

I was transcribing the involuntary sound my throat made when I imagined us trading real assets to bring Chychrun back here. But also, I was thinking the slime stuff, a piece of which was permanently embedded in one of my kids' room's ceiling when she enthusiastically threw it as hard as she could to see if it would stick.

We've got Szuber coming and one of the reasons why Tucson Roadrunners are really good this season is because of their defense, which Szuber is a big a part of.

Future left-side on D looks really, really good:
Simashev, Moser, Szuber, Duda

not to mention Kipkie & Langlois
Future is in the future, in what 5 years?
Chych isn't what we need, he is a middle pairing D on D. We need a better defensive D man then Chych to help our team. We have point production and it looks like that will continue to improve over time, scoring D isn't a high priority.
An overwhelming offense is a great defense!

It's always nice to hear how someone's parenting skills are paying off. I do not recommend freebasing it.

Szuber is already in Tucson having a great season...he's more than likely going to get a shot at making the team as early as next season. Simashev will be the following year, so your left side will be set in 2yrs and then Duda will begin pushing in year 3 as he will join Tucson next season.

It's not 5years away, only 2

Compromise, 3 1/2...

Szuber will be w/the big club in 2yrs minimum...and we know Simashev will be with the big club in 2yrs, so how is it not 2?

I can wait on Duda and obviously the right side of the equation is more murky...but seems that the left side is going to be pretty set in as little as 2yrs

Some OTT fans hope they can use Chychrun to fetch a right-handed D-man that makes fewer mistakes and excels at keeping pucks out of the net more than putting them into it. Someone that is more physical.

Edit: Exactly what we need instead of Chychrun too.

I rode a Gak once. Smelly.

So Chychrun's developing a reputation for wanting out. What a nice character trait.
Don't start such stupid rumors. We all know what kind of character Chychrun had while here. We haven't heard anything from Chychrun to get his side of the story, if there is even a story. Ottawa has new owner, GM and coach. When that happens there is always players traded.

I didn't start the rumor.

This is a 5 star post. Chychrun comported himself well while he was a Coyote. He's a good guy, not one of the occasional jerks that come through (Domi).

Huh. I defended Chychrun's decision to request a trade from the Yotes, he played hard and didn't complain to the media about it taking some time. Obviously not re-signing in Ottawa is his right as a UFA. But after him vetoing a trade to Columbus by telling them he wouldn't sign there and now getting traded to an "approved" team and wanting out of there, not a good look. The one thing I'll still say in his defense is over the last decade the Coyotes and Senators have been the premier teams for gross incompetence, so it could be that he just saw the same stuff in Ottawa as the pre Armstrong Coyotes and said f*** this.

I loved Chychrun. No hard feelings here. Just feel bad he got traded to the Coyotes of Canada
That's where he wanted to go, but they have really underachieved, and have new owner, GM and coach, and we all know there is player movement when that happens. We have no idea what is happening behind closed doors.

Surprised Chayka was able to negotiate two extra UFA years on Chychrun's current contract, now learning how selective he is. Shared GM credit for the But acquisition.

Wins are overrated for goalies. Not the same as a pitcher in baseball. These 3 should not be the Vezina leaders.
