Well there's our big move to send the team a message, send down a 4th liner who's playing his role as asked for.
he just drew the short straw and , if they needed to send someone down .. he's in that slot.

Now. What big move were you hoping for or even half expecting between Saturday and Monday.

No moves would be criticized... minor move here criticized ... so lets have it what's the big move

Trade for McDavid, QHughes, and Shesterkin

It's not the craziest theory that he was sent down for not fighting since he only has a handful of fights so far this year, but it's difficult to assume that is the reason since he plays so little. Some nights, he plays as little as 5 minutes. He isn't allowed to leave the bench to fight people.

I think it's more likely that they have limited roster spots, and wanted to make changes in any way they could. Sending him down may have simply been to make room for different players to change the tone a bit since an actual major trade takes more time to pull off.

He is also guaranteed to clear because of his 1-way contract. Teams won't want to take a fringe NHLer who is signed 1-way for another year after this one. That might have factored in because Gregor and Cousins are much more likely to be claimed.

I thought Cousins would be sent down before MacEwen; primarily due to the penalties Cousins takes.
But Cousins does a bunch of other really useful things...like winning a cup last year on a completely different team!

I hope he’s alright. I feel like he really got screwed around with since he signed here. Up and down and up and down while he’s actually been very good this year imo.
His fighting ability wasn’t good last year but looked much improved and he forchecks hard and brings a lot of energy.
Hope to see him back soon.

Wishing him all the best. Seems like a great guy to have in the locker room. Wasn't he a big part in that closed door meeting after we got blown out by the Sabres? Turned our season around.

My thoughts are with Zach and anyone going through this. I know how difficult it is.

Good luck to Zach, lots of talent still to see and we’re cheering for you.

Doesn't sound like he needs to get help. Just needs to take time away from work/hockey to properly grieve.

Didn't he literally say he will be taking steps to heal and get the help that he needs?

How do you say it doesn't sound like he needs to get help?

"Get the help that I need"
...
"Doesn't sound line he needs to get help"

Take your time big guy - seems like a good dude. I’ve loved him on the ice this year, full value 4th line guy IMO
