hadn't realized how productive that MTL top-line has been. noticed suzuki was top-20 in league-wide scoring, but that line seems to be hella productive.

for the year the top 10 NHL scoring lines in total GF

What’s the point of reviewing the play if they aren’t gonna call the penalty here?

At this point it just seems that the refs make up the rules as they go, there is no continuity in the calls they make and the situation room is no help

Again it's one of those weird NHL rules quirks when it comes to review which needs to be addressed.

The linesman can't stop play and report a missed penalty to the referee except in some cases, relevant here is when a player takes a high stick and is cut, then a penalty can be called by the linesman. In this case, the high sticked player wasn't cut, so they can't call the penalty.

They want to avoid linesmen calling penalties, and also avoid video review of all potential penalties.

So the refs were right here, but just like last night where they can't review Hellebuyck's mask coming off, only goalie interference, it's a dumb rule.

Leafs are playing pretty well right now despite several key injuries. Look like a Stanley Cup contender to me. Of course, we will have to wait until the playoffs, but good chance they will have key players like Reilly back in the lineup.

So what were they reviewing then? Or was there no review at all? They just whistled it down because a player was hurt, and then had an unfortunate gaffe when announcing that?
