Just stop, give Lou his due. Nobody is saying he walks on water and his utter genius crafted the roster. What Lou does do, strongly impart a winning culture, accountability and a hive mentality. It’s a winning formula, and it’s no accident what’s happening now that he took over the franchise.
I'd say it's a winning mentality in the right situation.

You have a drill sergeant, but you need a team who responds to that.

LOL Does tossing a dog a bone offend you that much?

When your sport values a Matt Martin more than a Nathan MacKinnon....... we are so doomed.

Dead Puck Era 2.0
I don't love how the NHL handles officiating, especially in playoffs, but you're going to pull something reaching that far

I thought Pageau was solid in the games I saw, just not sure I'd say he shut them down.
he did imo... you will never completely shut down those 3 guys those players are gifted and the definition of clutch play... but JG done a excellent job.

What? There's no plugs on the Islanders. Mikheyev, Engvall and Thornton were plugs. Islanders 4th line is hard-hitting and wears teams down.
Yeah that was 4th line was really wearing down...the other 4th line lol

I don’t need to try again.

More than 50% of the forwards are in there as a result of someone too many in the fanbase treat as dog’s dinner.
Well when LL took over the Islanders their best player and captain left the team. But since then they have made the playoffs every year and now are in the final 4. On the other hand the team Lou left had 3 young star forwards to build around and the money to sign the Islanders former captain. But things haven't worked out for that GM.

Isles won on more than grinding.

Barzal, Nelson, Beauvillier, Sorokin…..that 4th line…

And they all have something in common!

Absolutely. Doesn’t mean he had nothing to begin with on the island.

But when is it going to click? You'd think it would have by now and we just choked another series to a team that I would say is weaker than NYI or BOS.

That was some insane physical hockey with both teams taking no shortcuts. I didnt see us play that way consistenly in the Habs series and thats a first round series that this core needed to show up for and win.

Just dont think we're built for playoff hockey and its intense physical nature.

I just wonder when our core guys will come out and play free like they want to score goals, come through with the big goals, win for each other and just enjoy themselves. There's so much joy in a lot of these teams advancing through the playoffs in these big games and it feels like something we really miss in those elimination moments where we can close out a team.

Yeah, but its completely misevaluated on this board lol

We seem scared. These teams seem hungry.

We get hunted, but we don't hunt
