Can anyone actually see our core playing in a series like this and doing well?

We dont play with anywhere near the intensity or physicality of either of these teams.

We need a complete re-think to the whole structure of what we're trying to do. The whole system needs changing. Can you imagine SDA or Robertson playing in this type of series. Like wtf do we do?

Honestly, it needs to click and stay. I'd say this intensity isn't different from our Boston series. One Marner was going, one Matthews was going. I found Tavares was always going in his playoffs. But they need to do it together and nightly instead of alternating

I can't help but shake my head watching this series at how bad the B's screwed up those 3 consecutive firsts. It may have saved the league though because they'd be an outright dominant dynasty with the consensus picks. So crazy given the B's success drafting in general

The Bruins are a well run organization and that 3x pick combo multiplier of Barzal, Connor, Chabot would have locked in at least an extra couple of Stanley Cups. Hell, 2 or even 1 of them could have put them over the top vs St. Louis. Oh well!

Isles are deeper and better than last year's team. Think it will be a 7 game grueling series after last years went to 6 with tampa dominating for the most part

But when is it going to click? You'd think it would have by now and we just choked another series to a team that I would say is weaker than NYI or BOS.

That was some insane physical hockey with both teams taking no shortcuts. I didnt see us play that way consistenly in the Habs series and thats a first round series that this core needed to show up for and win.

Just dont think we're built for playoff hockey and its intense physical nature.

I think Tampa's on another level than the Islanders. They have it all and lots of it.

I can't quite get a read on how good Tampa is. They haven't dominated consistently, but they seem to have another gear they click into when needed
