Anyone else find it funny (in a sad, pathetic kind of way) that the U.S.-based teams are watching playoff hockey at full capacity and with no restrictions, while I can’t go to the zoo or Canada’s Wonderland with the kids without having to wear a mask outdoors and at reduced capacity.

The Islander forwards are basically Matt Barzal and 11 4th liners

What? How?

Nelson, Bailey, Beuvillier, Eberle, Pageau, Palimieri are all good/decent offensive players. The Islanders aren't about fluffing anyone's offensive stats, it's scoring by committee and doing whatever it takes to win. They have no passengers on that team.

Lehner starting?? Interesting....

Not sure if it's the right move since Fleury got you this far, but I guess you can't risk having another critical blunder. Lehner did look bad in his lone appearance, though.

Either way, Vegas needs to score early and often.

Playoff hockey rulebook? Is that a thing? Players play harder and try harder to not let the other team score means the playoffs has a different playbook? Do we want the refs to blow their whistle and call every little thing and really kill the game of hockey for everyone watching? Would that make you happy?

I don't think suggesting that refs officiate the post season in a similar way as the regular season would kill the sport of hockey.

Personally I'd like to see consistency between the two: either let this stuff slide during the regular season as well, or call things properly in the playoffs.

So you're saying Matt Barzal can carry 11 4th liners to the final 4 and our 22 million dollar combo couldn't carry us past round 1? MLSE got robbed it sounds like if what you're saying is true.

If the Islander forwards are 4th liners except for Barzal, then our $22m combo are playing with 5th and 6th liners and Nylander :sarcasm:

Islanders have the "Identity" line. We have no identity.

The Isles "Identity Line" is essentially a replica copy in strategy Leafs 1993 & 1994 Gilmour lead teams that went to the final 4 in back to back years ( just like these Islanders), which iced a 3rd line trio of that were known as "The Grind Line".

The Grind Line

Bill Berg – LW / Peter Zezel – C / Mark Osborne – RW

Best checking line in hockey, that could be played in all situations and drove the opposition into submission and crazy through their relentless hitting and getting under the skin ability.

Leafs "Identity" and the time was known as Doug and the Slugs taken from the rock group of the same name, but to signify Gilmour and a bunch of blue collar hard works kind of like Matty Barzal and the Slugs in modern day times..

Leaf fans loved our trio back then as much as Isles fans love their version today.

Lol at the idiots who would trade Matthews..Mc David and MacKinnon and Draisatl should also be traded right?
Enjoy watching him walk and getting nothing in return.
The Leafs are not winning during the remainder of AM's contract. Chew on that reality and the choice isn't as outlandish or Idiotic as you claim.
