Think you'd be nuts to pay that for Boeser. He could help a lot of powerplays out there but he's slow as hell these days. A decent prospect and a lesser pick maybe. A 1st with not much else I could see.
As I Canucks fan 6 years is to much for nothing he brings.Get what you can and move forward.According to Serravali,
Boeser has turned down the Canucks latest offer of 5 yrs 8mil AAV per. Seravalli says the Canucks will make 1 last final offer.
I think the Canucks final offer will be 6 yrs @ 7.5-8mil AAV....
Boeser seems like the exact type of player that Tampa's management avoids, we're also not going to give up our two best assets for a rental lolTampa needs him. Can't be going into the playoffs with Girgensons in the top 6. 1st + Geekie?
Thats too aggressive imo .. i would accept in a nanosecondTampa needs him. Can't be going into the playoffs with Girgensons in the top 6. 1st + Geekie?
No. They really don't. Montreal's game relys on speed. Boeser is one of the slowest skaters in the league. Plus, why spend valuable assets on a pending free agent when playoffs are very unlikely?Habs needs to jump on this.
Then why the would they be asking a top prospct and 1st round grossNo. They really don't. Montreal's game relys on speed. Boeser is one of the slowest skaters in the league. Plus, why spend valuable assets on a pending free agent when playoffs are very unlikely?
A playoff team who's first is going to be a lot later msy be interested. Plus just because that's the ask it doesn't mean anyone will pay itThen why the would they be asking a top prospct and 1st round gross
Seems like quite bit given his aversion from the defensive side of the rink but retention/ right team who knows
They gave up an entire draft year for Jeannot.Boeser seems like the exact type of player that Tampa's management avoids, we're also not going to give up our two best assets for a rental lol
A younger player with rfa status. They gave up an entire draft year for Jeannot.
A younger player with rfa status.
You're missing the point, I'm not saying he's worse I'm saying that Boeser isn't the type of player that JBB trades premium assets for (and even if he was that return isn't happening).A clearly worse player with rfa status.
But yeah, meat and potatoes type player or something like that.
Leafs don't have any legit prospects and a late first....they won't get himLeafs should be all over this tbh. Need the scoring
Why?
I think the Canucks are keen on resigning him if Boeser gives in and signs for shorter term like 5-6 years.
They are also in a playoff battle for the wildcard.
What would be the hurry on accepting a 1st and a prospect offer now especially when it looks like it will be available right at the TDL with multiple suitors.
Realistically, this is probably Boeser's last big contract, so term is going to matter a lot for earnings potential. If 5 years is the max they're offering him, I can't fault him for wanting to hit the open market.
You're missing the point, I'm not saying he's worse I'm saying that Boeser isn't the type of player that JBB trades premium assets for (and even if he was that return isn't happening).
You’re saying he’s strong defensively? … got it ; Homer alert . Nothing to see hereYah, I mean I am sure you'd believe this, ya know, if you haven't watched him play hockey in the last few years...........
Which given your opinion, you clearly haven't.
You’re saying he’s strong defensively? … got it ; Homer alert . Nothing to see here
So Sherwood for Geekie and a 1st then? You're missing the point, I'm not saying he's worse I'm saying that Boeser isn't the type of player that JBB trades premium assets for (and even if he was that return isn't happening).
Easy 40? Come on. He did it once as an outlier. Sandwiched in between an 18 goal season and this season where he'll be incredibly lucky to get 25. He's slow, has a tendency to disappear for stretches, and can't stay healthy. Theres a reason Vancouver is reluctant to give him the contract he's looking for.Boeser wants term, Canucks offering 8 ml x 5...
Canucks are concerned with his footspeed and given they aren't a fast team, and he lost his set up Man in Miller, he won't produce the same in Van
He needs to be on a fast team with a center who's a good passer. If so, He's an easy 40, if not he's 25 goals...so on another team he is well worth 8 mil x 7. On the canucks, not so much
Its about roster fit, and contract ask. Great kid, hard worker, tons of character and really cares, but given the mess in Van, its better they move him now.
