Off topic but anyone else having issues with this site constantly freezing on their phone or tablet? This site has always had issues due to constant ads but it’s nearly impossible to use these days.
Kings will need a gritty forward at the deadline if they want to beat the Oilers. They bullied us two years in a row and it can’t be Englund vs Kane, Nurse, Desharnais. Plus Erne, Foegle, and Hyman all play gritty games.
That's some of it. But the Kings also weren't as nearly as good as this years team too.
People will point to PLD and say he'll make a difference. He will if only from a matchup standpoint, but it's more a healthy Moore, a vastly improved Byfield, and Englund/Spence that are the big improvements. Durzi, Walker, and Edler were on the ice for 2 goals for and 8 against in the playoffs.
So yeah, adjustments, but I think the defense was the biggest thing. Ideally you want Doughty/Anderson out there as much as they can be against McDavid, but I wouldn't be freaking if Roy/Gavrikov were out there, or even Spence/Englund. Last year I felt like I had to take a shot every time our third pairing were out there.

The Kings were beat by Edmonton because their best players were injured or ineffective due to age, their 4th line was dreadful, they couldn't kill a penalty to save their lives, and lost the vast majority of board battles.
They have addressed most of those issues to the best of their ability. I would bet the most likely end to this season is the #2 seed Kings beating the #3 seed Oilers before losing in the 2nd round.

I don't care what kind of roster you construct, TM is a choking bitch until proving otherwise, the chickenshit 'prevent' defense gets completely owned by the best player in the world and you can put that on the players all you want, it's the game plan that's visibly dog shit and there's immense history for it. Things changing this year would be HUGE for his legacy but right now it's a looong legacy of choking followed by his teams going deeper the year after he leaves.

I was listening to some of the MTL post game interviews. I think it was Suzuki who basically said something along the same lines. If you can get the lead on LA, just sit back, hold onto the puck and LA won't do shit about it.

That's rich coming from a player whose team never led in the game. I don't agree with that sentiment with this year's team either. The forecheck is a different animal this year, especially on lines 1 and 4.

I think you are off on this one, the angle Tkachuk came in at, the only thing he could do, was deke, there was no shot to be had, so that pokecheck, was a thing of beauty, he prevented the puck from coming through him, and prevented Tkachuk from pulling it around him.....
I get it's awkard to see as we only see about 5 per year......from 1100 games....lol

Guess who gave out his 3rd 10 min misconduct penalty in as many days? Our new hated ref Mr. Rank. Although, it was well deserved because you could tell BK was about to do something really stupid when they put him back on the ice..
Pretty sure there's been a mandate given out, if there is stupid shit late in games, give out 10's like candy.....no issues with it.
