The reason I don't want LA to play EDM in round 1 isn't because I think EDM is a bad match up for us specifically.

It's just because the Oilers are one of the best teams in the league.

Totally agree. Seems silly to think the Oilers won’t be there at the end of the season. They’ve won 5 in a row. They went 20 and 3 (or something close to that) the last two months of last season. They’re coming.

Yuck.

EDM beat up on the Kings the last 2 years then got murked by the 1st legit team they faced. Every year, at the start of the playoffs it's "Can anyone stop the Oilers??" only to wind up slightly more successful than the Leafs. If the Kings intend on making a deep run this year they'll have to get past multiple teams more impressive than Edmonton.

I know it's hard for people around here to admit, but yes the Oilers are one of the best teams in the league. Only teams that have been able to beat them in the playoffs last two years were the SC champions.

Edmonton is gooooooood. Just won their 6th in a row. I’ll never feel completely confident playing them. Not now. Not probably ever. They’re like the Kings but on crack.

Really hope they dont get a legit goalie and a good depth dman in trade. They are playing at such a fast pace. Last team Ive seen move like this is the Colorado cup team.

Oilers are bad except for 1 player. They flame out in the playoffs because the got to move is to double shift one player all year & in the playoffs. By the 2nd or 3rd round they have nothing left.

It's easy, have someone shadowing him ready to light him up the second the puck gets within 10 feet of him.

King's need payback for that hit on Mikey anyways.

The Oilers did win, but they were sloppy tonight and really shaky in goal. They were the better team I think, but not by a lot and they relied on their PP to pull it out. You can look at that two ways. They tend to struggle against more disciplined and structured teams (like the Wild), and have enough to sneak by. Or, they are just finding ways to win games in different ways (like the Kings). They have been at home where they are 7-4-1 and they are 4-8 on the road.

This next week they have NJ, CHI, TB, and FLA at home. If they continue to roll through those they'll be putting the league on notice.

I don't know why I haven't noticed this before, but because of their location, they generally have very long homestand and long trips, since there aren't many teams close to them. Maybe that's why the Western Candian teams tend to be streaky?

Goaltending is deflating them. They dominated the first period. Shots were like 20-5 after 1. Skinner let in 2 on only a couple shots after that. If they get a guy like Saros at the deadline and a steady dman it will be dangerous. They are sloppy but can clean it up.

The Oilers get over hyped every year because they are Canada's last hope.

McDavid and Draisatl are legit threats every game and can when games by themselves. They are a lot like Crosby/Malkin Penguins honestly.

I still hate them tho. Whiny brats who often want to dish it but not take it. Majority of there fanbase can't see past there own nose or the TSN bl**j**s every off season.

McDavid does own LA. Still hate that he was right when he said LA had no answer for them. They know how to get past the 1-3-1. That and the parade of coaches they bring in every year and half apparently.

The Oilers are a very poorly constructed team that rides on the immense skill of two of the best players in the world. They have very poor team defense and goaltening, you have to take advantage of that and not choose to sit back in your zone while they pound shots on you. Playing the Oilers doesn't scare me, Mclellan being outcoached and refusing to make adjustments against the Oilers scares me
