Being this is the around the leauge section...
Do you guys think there are more penaltys being called this season than last?
Maybe you can educate me as to where i can find stats like that?

It looks like power play opportunities are up a bit this season, but not nearly as much as the league had coming out of the '05 lockout.

Honestly makes me mad he didn’t get his shit together sooner. Everyone saw his game was tanking and needed adjustments. What happens there?

part 1, sometimes a guy needs to know he's on his way out to get over his ego and fix things, see Brian Boyle

part 2 no one in this organization had the balls OR capability to have him correct it sooner

I'm here for the Quick revenge tour and i f***in love it

Quick had to be willing to let go of the aggressive style that made him great but he could no longer maintain because he's not as athletic as he used to be. That's a difficult thing to do and I'd argue most players fail to make adjustments late in their careers and get left behind. It almost happened to Brown after 2014, but he found a way to keep himself relevant for a while after changing up his style.

For all we know, the Rangers signed Quick because their goalie coach thought he could fix Quick's game.

Rob hope youre not out surfing, get this guy

Edit: oof he's doing terrible this season

You'd have to risk waiving Copley (or put him on ltir right away) to make some room for Raanta... Bjornfot no longer waiver exempt - dont have any spare fwds

pretty spot on, especially Boyle. The dude had a spot locked and didn't put in the work he need to stay with the Kings. It wasn't until he was traded, and Torts told him he wasn't going to be brought back unless he changed his game and attitude.

Iaffalo got a goal tonite.. 1st in 18.. Dont miss those droughts at all - he needed to be moved thats one w zero regret

The PLD trade is looking like one of the worst in Kings history.

It’s funny because usually it takes some time to play out but

PLD scoring at half of his career average despite having the easiest starts and matchups of his career

Vs vilardi and Iafallo playing key roles in the top six of the hottest team in the league and Kupari (prior to injury) in the bottom six AND a 2nd round pick

That’s not just slight intentional imbalance to fill a need at c, that’s Chevy robbing Blake absolutely blind and THEN shaking him upside down to see if anything else at all falls out of his pockets

It’s basically worst case scenario right now, three players at the top of their roles AND a pick vs Jordan staal/dustin penner hybrid at 8.5 million. I don’t even think there’s anything PLD could do to tip the balance at this point, icing on the cake would be WPG ending up with the two best players in the deal AND finishing ahead in the playoffs

I figured this would be Blake signing his own death warrant, his lucic deal, but I didn’t think it would arrive at dog shit so quickly

I believe the Kings were just valued by Forbes as either the 3rd or 4th most valuable franchise in the league.

My guess is that those numbers mean a lot more towards Blake's job security than PLD's.

If not for the emergence of Byfield and Moore, along with the stellar play of Talbot, Blake would be in trouble. If those three weren't playing lights out, there would be a lot more scrutiny on how badly the Kings got hosed in the PLD trade.

Some people may be saying that PLD just needs "time", but when you are aquired for a rising (albeit injury proned) young talent, and then paid 8.5 million dollars, you had better dang well produce more than a shot on goal here and there. At this point I would easily take Blake Lizotte over PLD. Lizotte may be small, but at least he plays with heart.
