It doesn't...just explaining why it is hard for us long-time fans to not think something f***ed up is going to happen.....for example, NJ & NYR pick 1& 2 in '19 (both MSG network, largest in the league), then NYR picks #2 the next year--I didn't say conspiracy, just weird.

So therefore it is hard for me to believe the Hawks won't get Bedard...for whatever reasons.
Once snake bit, always remember the poison....ask all long-time King fans before the 1st Cup.
Ahh, I see. It’s not a conspiracy, just a bunch of suspicious coincidences that appear to be connected to certain markets that are apparently more desirable for the league. Got it.

32 thoughts this morning mentioned how Blake has an offer on the table for Chychrun and Kings still in the driver seat for him. Time will tell at this point if Armstrong takes up the offer.
By the sounds of it Blake doesn't do bidding wars. If you remember back to when we were selling off the cup players Blake said he would put an ask on the player and sell once it was met. I would say he'd do the same thing as a buyer, make an offer for what he thinks is fair and its take it or leave it.

The Kings have never picked first because they either haven't had the worst record in the league, or if they did it was one of those years where they stupidly traded their 1st for veterans. I believe its the former but not 100%.

But the Kings have had lottery luck, the first lottery was in 1995 and the Kings won it, moving up 4 spots for the privilege of selecting Aki Berg. The highlight of Berg's career was a pre-season game vs the Ducks, but still it was a lottery win. For you conspiracy guys I assume you find it odd that the 2nd largest media market with the most marketable player in the league just happened to win the lottery?

In 2020 the Kings moved up from 4th to 2nd, in a draft where the consensus was there was a clear #1 in one tier and then a clear #2-#3 in their own tier. Conspiracy?

2015 saw the most hyped prospect since Crosby and 2019 saw perhaps the most hyped American prospect ever, and they went to Edmonton and New Jersey? Ya that makes sense.

The insecurity complex here about both Zegras and Stutzle is pitiful.

Byfield is very likely on the track to becoming a very good player in this league. Turcotte may be a bust. It happens. Denigrating other obviously good players picked after them makes us look like drooling homers.

I see people here being hyper-critical of all four so i dont' give a f***

no one escapes this forum's wrath!

It's like when people are like "you guys are so mean to Karlsson" and it's like have you SEEN how mean we are to Doughty

I've given up on hating players unless they are just complete unprofessional ass-clown embarrassments like Ryan Smyth and Sean Avery. I never understood the Karlsson dislike on this forum, the guy was always a pretty classy player. He would occasionally make some defensive mistakes that were always magnified here, but way more than made up for it with his offense. I think he goes down as the best defenseman of his era and his renaissance this season has been pretty cool to see. The league needs more players like Karlsson, he is/was worth the price of admission.

Zegras I see a bit more of the reason since (according to Rosen) it was heavily debated internally on whether that was who they were going to take and the fact that he went to the Ducks. If Zegras were a King I think people would be going gaga here over the stuff he does on the ice and if he were playing in Carolina or some place like that he would kind of be an after-thought. But he went to the Ducks which just adds salt to the wrong decision the Kings made.

Stutzle, another internal decision where the Kings probably should have gone the other way, but I think much of the unfair criticism here is because of just how annoying Ottawa fans are. And they always have been, for as long as I've been on this forum, they always overrated their guys (everyone from Petr Schastlivy and Brandon Bochenski to guys in the present). But this time I think they did hit the jackpot, he just looks so amazing.

Although, I will say I don't think 2020 and 2019 will be comparable mistakes. I think QB is just so much better as a winger and with his skills, his size and his athleticism In think he can be close to a point-per-game winger once he reaches his peak. I don't think QB has the IQ to play center, but he has many traits that will make him an impactful winger. He probably won't be at the level of Stutzle but if he can be one-level below the Kings will end up ok with that pick. I'd much rather have QB than Laff, that is for sure.

It does hurt for this season though, more than it will in the future. I think if you put TS on the Kings right now and you have Stuzle as the 1C, Kopitar as the 2C and Danault as the 3C and with how our wingers are playing, I think the Kings might be the best team in the West.

Faust keeps getting national gigs, so someone must like him. I wonder if the people who make these decisions realize what a tough spot he is in working with Fox. I would say that Jim arguably talks more than any color guy in the NHL.

The Kings don't necessarily need to acquire a goaltender that's a significant upgrade over Copely.

At the very least, we need another goaltender who can be average.

As it stands now, the Kings are a Copely cold streak (or injury) away from having their season fall apart. This team is too good to have their season hanging on that thin of a thread.

Get an replacement level or better netminder, and play the hotter hand between him and Copely.

Quick to LTIR.

Right when it looked like Seattle was turning things around they take a dump vs the Sharks.

Karlsson now on pace for 107 points and is a -1 on a team with a -40 GD. This reminds me of Selanne's crazy return to dominance season he had in Anaheim after everyone thought he was cooked.

Seattle starting to look like the answer to the question 'how unsustainable is sub-900 goaltending.' don't worry, we also know.

Phi holding onto a lead vs. the flames too, let's go!

Flames and Kraken both lose in regulation.

Lots of grumblings in the Canadian media about Sutter.
im sure he could not care less - spring will be here soon, time to tend to the herd anyway

He seems like he'd be a good corporate spokesman - tailor made for a national audience..I dont like his calls - personal preference. I hope he has success in his career - seems like a nice enough guy. Maybe come back after he loses his virginity and picks up some public intoxication misdemeanors.

Startling how Martin Jones keeps getting gigs - consistently a sub-900 (well at philly he was .900) goaltender since 18/19 season (w 3 different teams)

You think Blake wants to pull the trigger on Chychrun?
He might want to give him a cortisone injection for his latest hidden, so he can scout him but nothing that drastic.

If I am Blake when he calls and accepts , I lower the offer again.
Citing hidden injuries and rust concerns.

25 games left, 4 back to backs (might have missed one). Quick is looking at maybe 5-6 starts left if the King's don't trade for a backup or better level goalie. Putting him on LTIR or scratching for 5 games isn't that big of a deal.
I understand for you it is not a big deal. For a future Hall of Famer, or at the very least, someone that will have his banner hung in the rafters and statue erected, it probably is. I get it, we all do, Quickie is done, but you don't "Old Yeller" guys like that, at least I don't support that.

100%. Its got to be eating JQ on the insides that he cant help the team right now. Its a tough situation all the way around. And I think it even goes so far as Blake wont get an insurance goalie at the deadline for same line of reasoning.

Nice response....class act....you conveniently ignored what I wrote previously about Pittsburgh and Edmonton....you also ignored that I admitted there is some Kings PTSD in my (and other longtime fans') perceptions.

Plus UFA's be like I wanna go where they treat players right, statues and shiite.
Helps to get guys like Danault and Fiala.

I think Blake learned that from DL - treating players right pays off in the UFA market. Also explains his loyalty to Walker after what he went through...there's always the human side we dont feel because we dont know these guys personally.

No, I get it. It’s not a conspiracy. It’s just that “something f***ed up is going to happen.....for example, NJ & NYR pick 1& 2 in '19 (both MSG network, largest in the league), then NYR picks #2 the next year….” Otherwise there’s no need to mention MSG and network size in relation to the first and second picks, right?

What is this nonsense about quick, being an HHOF? I adore him, he was literally my favorite player years. He isn't close to going to the hall. I think most kings fans know this.

Most everything is suspicious these day and it comes down to deals and money in most all things.
I am not sure But only a few know if that is the case here or not.
