Looking at the standings today for the teams in (or in a race for the) playoffs. Found some interesting stuff:

Vegas is 17-5-4 away, but only 17-13-0 at home

WPG & TOR each only 1 shootout game this year.

EDM (like VGK) are better on the road than home - 17-8-3 (A) vs 13-11-5 (H)

MIN has has 9 shootouts so far.

TOR has only 9 home games (out of 26) remaining

In the east WC race, NYI & FLA have only 23 games remaining, while Buff has (28), Pitts & Det both have 27.

FLA also has only 23 games remaining, but 15 are at home/8 on road.

There may not be a goaltender that moves the needle that is available, but there are a few LD that do. Unfortunately, goaltending may not be fixable until the offseason.....and yes we all understand that is to the detriment of a potential deep playoff run.

32 thoughts this morning mentioned how Blake has an offer on the table for Chychrun and Kings still in the driver seat for him. Time will tell at this point if Armstrong takes up the offer.

After seeing Vermeltdown on Sat, i hope that isnt part of the Chychruin package thats on the table.. i hope Blake's relatively conservative nature keeps him from biting.

The insecurity complex here about both Zegras and Stutzle is pitiful.

Byfield is very likely on the track to becoming a very good player in this league. Turcotte may be a bust. It happens. Denigrating other obviously good players picked after them makes us look like drooling homers.

I see Murray get a lot of love--particularly for establishing the foundation--and I don't recall anyone 'hating' him on any severe level other than that we just went as far as he could take us at that point.

And the DL interview really highlighted Sutter, he's gonna push the buttons, and even if you LIKE it, that's exhausting over a term.

25 games left, 4 back to backs (might have missed one). Quick is looking at maybe 5-6 starts left if the King's don't trade for a backup or better level goalie. Putting him on LTIR or scratching for 5 games isn't that big of a deal.

They're not LTIRing Quick. He will serve out his contract whether people want him to or not.

How does any of this suggest some sort of draft lottery conspiracy?

It doesn't...just explaining why it is hard for us long-time fans to not think something f***ed up is going to happen.....for example, NJ & NYR pick 1& 2 in '19 (both MSG network, largest in the league), then NYR picks #2 the next year--I didn't say conspiracy, just weird.

So therefore it is hard for me to believe the Hawks won't get Bedard...for whatever reasons.
Once snake bit, always remember the poison....ask all long-time King fans before the 1st Cup.
