I hope Chicago gets Bedard.

Far better that an organization with intent to win, and the ability to do so, gets a top talent that would be wasted on perennial losers with no real desire or path to success. Like McDavid in Edmonton. Just a waste.

I just don't want him in San Jose. I wouldn't even mind if he went to Anaheim, just anywhere but San Jose

chicago just got lucky with the toews era. prior to that they were a tire fire organization just like edmonton was.

I'm not sure what the f*** is going on, but the Kings are getting help on the scoreboard just about every night. Nashville is falling fast and Calgary isn't kicking it into gear like they usually do this time of year.

I'll start playoff percentages after next game as most of the websites are now starting to run playoff odds, and it's a lot rosier than it was last year at this time.

Hopefully after getting another year off before tomorrows game we will look like we did against the pens. Gotta thump Anaheim they are without Terry.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but when Dean and Sutter were both fired many players visited Dean go console him.

Not a single player did the same for Sutter.

Should be a lesson there.

I'll just point you to the Rangers and Blackhawks moving up 10 spots in the lottery. then there was the draft where they went from 5th to 1st and got Kane.
For the record, the Rangers have won the draft lottery once in the last 26 years. They got Alex Lafreniere out of it. Other franchises to win the lottery once are Ottawa, Boston, San Jose, Atlanta, Washington, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Colorado, Toronto, Montreal, and our own LA Kings (The Aki Berg draft) way back in 1995.

The Blackhawks have won the lottery twice in 26 years, netting Patrick Kane as you mentioned and a pick that was traded to Vancouver to help them assemble the Vancouver Sedins. Other famed franchises to win the lottery twice are Buffalo and NY Islanders.

If you're really into the tin foil thing, there are three glamorous teams that have won the lottery thrice, Florida, Edmonton, and New Jersey. I'm sure the NHL has been working hard behind the scenes to somehow get those ping pong balls to land just right for these three key franchises.

The KIngs have NEVER picked #1 since their first year of existence...despite all the horrible teams we had to live thru. They have had 4 #2s & 3 #3s. So in 55 or so years, the Kings haven't drafted 1st in 54 years, and in 55 years they have drafted in the 1st 3 slots only 7 times in the last 54 years...with one of the longest streaks of futility for 40+of those years. I lived through all of those years.

(Compare that draft record to say Pittsburgh or Edmonton).

So pardon us fans of the Kings lifetime of existence if we are a bit bitter, frustrated and skeptical of the way this "equity" has played out over all these years.

It helps to understand the history of anything you are analyzing/criticizing. Get in our shoes and walk around a little. Every diehard longtime Kings fan hates the f-ing lottery. We can't even win a coin flip after we win a game we should lose...

Plus, the year the Hawks moved up to #1 there were 3 acknowledged studs in that draft (Kane, JVR and Turris) and Kings were at #3 pre-lottery. Hawks won the lottery with 8% chance. Not only did that deliver them Kane (Hawks win zero Cups if they don't win that lottery...a fact .01% of Hawks fans realize), it pushed our Kings out of the top three...Thomas Hickey.

Don't even get me started on Pittsburgh's draft history.

walsh is f***ign idiot. how does that help anything. Passive aggressive tweets like a god damn teenager.

Sutter started the season pumping up Huebby. Not his fault the player has not fit in. Sutters system works. Thing is scoring is not even really the issue in Calgary. The biggest difference year over year is their goaltending.

I'm sorry to inform you that the Kings will almost certainly NOT be picking #1 AGAIN in 2023. Must be rigged.

I guess having followed this team for more the past three decades and posting on this board for well over the past decade doesn't qualify me as a "diehard longtime Kings fan". I mean I just presented the "history" of the draft lottery in my previous post.

Whatever. Go watch the videos of the actual draft lottery and develop some understanding of how the draft lottery works. Then explain to me how it is predestined to gift a team with a high pick. I get that you're bummed about the Kings haven't picked first in like ever, but that's not a valid reason to declare a draft lottery somehow rigged to favor certain teams.

How does any of this suggest some sort of draft lottery conspiracy?

I'm still pissed about the Kane draft.
I hope some team outside the bottom five grabs Bedard this year just to keep the bitch train rolling.

Imagine Calgary winning the lottery and then having McDavid vs Bedard? As much as I do not want Bedard in the Pacific it would be entertaining. Would like him in Philly or Columbus as well.

I imagine Sutter is not appreciated by players fully till they retire or do not play for him for a long time.
