What is this nonsense about quick, being an HHOF? I adore him, he was literally my favorite player years. He isn't close to going to the hall. I think most kings fans know this.
If goalies were D-Men he would be a first ballot, but they're not. He might get in someday, but I wouldn't hold my breath. It's hard for goalies to get in.

The comparable is Osgood, and he isn't getting in either. Maybe if he had another dominant run or a longer career while healthy.

They're not LTIRing Quick. He will serve out his contract whether people want him to or not.

I understand for you it is not a big deal. For a future Hall of Famer, or at the very least, someone that will have his banner hung in the rafters and statue erected, it probably is. I get it, we all do, Quickie is done, but you don't "Old Yeller" guys like that, at least I don't support that.
This is nice & all. Quick hasn't played well enough to earn another start. If he wasn't held so highly by the team, he'd be with Cal in Ontario right now.

Going into the playoffs with Pheonix & Quick is just punting on the playoffs & a waste of time. might end up happening if the right pieces aren't available at the deadline.

Personally I don't see the difference between LTIR & press box behind 2 goalies. Maybe give Quick a start the last game or 2 if the King's have a couple blow off games at the end of the season.

Sucks, but here we are. Hopefully after watching Brown finish out last year we've learned.

Edit: Brown could also be stashed on a depth line & kinda covered for. Carrying a goalie no longer playing at an NHL level isn't an option.

Glad we were able to trade Carter at the time we did (maybe a year late). Penguins are crying about his CURRENT contract.

No they don't . If Richter got in with one cup and probably 75 fewer wins, with no all-star, no jennings , no silver medal, no conn smythe, what makes you think Quicks " not even close". His 2012 playoff records alone would get him votes.

If Quick were North or East of Chicago, he'd be a shoe in.

Since he's not, and it looks like he's not doing much compiling from here on out unfortunately, he's borderline.

Needed 22 wins to be the winningest USA goalie of all time to go with his other records

Yeah, he'd almost be a near lock if he did that with all his other accomplishments. He'll most likely end up 2nd, needing 6 more wins.

I’m sorry but how did Roberto Luongo get in to the HHOF?
He was a wins compiler. Had a long consistent career. He also won some gold medals and is generally pretty well liked. Wins mean more for goalies than they probably should, but it's always been like that. I thought he was fringe, personally, but I'm not on the committee.
