Dee, this post and article really resonated with me. I know it must have been difficult for you not to follow the Eagles while Vick wore their uniform. My gut tells me I will have to do the same if/when Voynov wears the Kings uniform again. The article expressed it better than I could.

Thank you for this excellent post. Probably the best I've read.

Although you are entitled to stop watching kings games as Dee was/is Eagles. I honestly do not know if I could do it.
I probably pat around $500 a year in kings merchandise. Not a huge number but a good number. Not sure what (if anything) you purchase, but perhaps another way to show your displeasure is to stop purchasing kings gear. Would allow you to still watch a game I am guessing you love, and probably have more of an affect on the King's owners than not tuning into a game would.

Just a thought.

amazing

Probably one of the more unlikely goals considering the year he had in 11-12. Was always a good foot soldier.

Adios Stoll

Best of luck to him but I think the Rangers overvalued him, esp if (as the 2 articles I read ) hinted at him lining up behind Stephan and Brassard on the 3rd line with MIller and Hayes. That , I think, is a mistake, he doesn't have the offensive capabilities and instincts needed for that.
But I guess we'll find out...

They also mentioned his faceoff percentage was a factor.

I m not sure why you think thy over valued him? At 800 k if he doesn't make the rangers he can will be buried in the ahl while the contract cap hit will not count against them. They finished 27th in the league in fo% and Stoll has been over 50 % his entire career how can this not help? He can will help there younger centers with draws as he did here. At worse he doesn't make the team and is in the ahl in case of njurys and at hes a experienced bottom 6 player with experience that helps them cheap

I used overvalued in the aspect of the 2 article sI read that put him on the 3rd line as a 'contruibutor' behind Stephan and Brassard , I don'ttsee hm that way. I didn't for 800K, he's fine. I meant as a 3rd line player who is expected to produce offensive scoring changes on a reg. basis. I based that on last year when he was awful all year.
I said he was good on Faceoffs, and they need that, that's fine.
I like JS and I hope he rebounds next year and settles in with new team. But the drop in his overall play, esp ES from 2014 to last year was significant. His leadership and team player effect was never questioned. It was the on ice areas of his game I felt declined and he had significant ice time in all areas, 39 of the last 40 games he had 0 assists, despite the wingers, PP time, etc.

But maybe a new system and new coach will change that. Maybe Sutter's system got too hard for him.
I hope he does great in NY.

fair enuff and i think you may have something one the sutter system and a change of pace maybe what he needs

Sometimes it works that way, Derek Roy went to the Oilers and looked completely different than he did prior to that bouncing around in thru 5 teams after leaving buffalo.

Roy went thru my mind actually when i was talking about stoll in a new situation. I think with a more offensive system he will respond with more points I think its going to be interest to see what stoll and more so williams do with out being in a uber defnesive system I will bet more points

Williams will do fine, he's top 6 player with a good IQ and instincts. ANd trotz is a good coach, I think JW will have a good year and esp shine in the playoffs, if he's healthy, he's a difference maker, something that team will use.

Stoll , I think being in a less severe system but still a defensive one will help him. But that system relies on speed and that's might be an issue for him.
They really need him mostly for the defensive zone faceoffs, which got them into some trouble last year. I don't expect him to put up a lot of points but if he's less stressed, due to a different environment, his overall game should be better.
But I still think he'd be better suited for the 4th line...we'll see.

He is way too slow for the East

From an article about the trade today:

This statement on Stoll from the NHL

At the time of his plea agreement, NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told the Los Angeles Times via email: "There is no suspension at this time. Now that his legal situation is resolved, we will evaluate what next steps, if any, the league intends to take. But we have no further comment on the matter at this time."

he plead guilty for the cocaine possession charge, shouldn't they have to suspend him? Didn't that guyfrom the leafs , Ashton, get 20 games last year for using his inhaler during an asthma attack or something like that?
