I’m saying either you are outraged by both or just say both are sports. To be outraged at a fan cheering one and then cheering another to a player not on your team is bias/hypocrisy.
I'm saying context matters for me. That the player and play determine my reaction. It's not biased/hypocrisy to think that what Bert did was worse than what Kolesar did. That McSorley swinging his stick around is worse than a slewfoot. That the guy getting "hurt" being Matt Cooke or Joe Sakic/insert likeable player matters. There's levels to it. Not all plays/players are equal.
For me personally outraged/cheering for someone to get hurt are both extremes. Kolesar plays a much dirtier game than MacKinnon. Standing around and catching a slewfoot vs willingly dropping the gloves and eating a fist are vastly different plays. It's not biased to see that. Nobody asks for a slewfoot. Everyone knows they can get rocked if they fight. You can swap the teams/players out and most would still agree. I think you just picked a spot where it doesn't work. There will be tons of valid times to play contrarian but doesn't work here.
