Just sayin… and I’m not wrong. I don’t care about people cheering either way. It’s sports. Be consistent and not a hypocrite about it.
You can read my edit, but to put it simply. You bet your ass I'm cheering on any dude that punches out someone that laid me out. The history matters and I don't think that makes it hypocritical.

Yeah the comparison doesn't work at all. It would if people were cheering on Eichel going down on a texbook dirty play.

Honestly think this is a good example of trying to hard not to be biased lol like yeah a star player getting hit with a dirty play is going to be more upsetting to a fanbase than when a physical player with a worse reputation gets beat up. Goes without saying all fans are biased but this isn't a great example of it.
Oh lord… human value isn’t on their star power.

So if Makar who laid a dirty hit, gets taken out by a Seattle player. It is okay?

Thanks. Still don’t think that’s a cheer it on situation but I don’t feel badly for him either. You go into a fight knowing the risks so it is what it is
Yeah, plus he’s back on the ice. He just got little dazed from one punch he took

Cotter injured Kuznetsov with a dirty head shot, got match penalty and Kuznetsov is still in the locker room.

They already took out Cogs, then Lehky (yeah more of a slip and fall than an egregious hit by Oleksiak), then Cogs again. I think that's enough. Would rather no one take anyone else out.

Typical Vegas BS. Nothing will likely come of the hit either because of the match penalty. Vegas would have to practically kill a guy to get any supplemental discipline.

In a way, yes and I swear I was one of the first in that GTD to seriously question that hit against McCann. But you are comparing our disdain for Kolesar (which is well deserved), to our bitching about a no call slew foot on our star and some random podcast gloating about it. It isn't the same thing my guy. Call it hypocrisy all you want

edit: also the only comment I see is the fan simply posting that Kolesar got knocked out. That is far away from "Omg that’s the best F thing ever!"

Human value? I don't think it's that deep personally. 99% of sports fans don't actually want anybody to get seriously injured. It's more just cheering or not caring about it for/due to karma. Star power matters for sure as well because it's part of the intent. Would be pretty naive to think the quality of player never factors in to the intentions on dirty plays IMO. Similar with any sport. Not always the case but I think in certain cases it's certainly more intentional depending on the player.

A player who takes runs at other players getting into a fight vs a player who for the most part outside of a few incidents has been a clean player getting targeted with a textbook dirty play is different anyway you wanna slice it. It would have worked perfectly if someone like Landy dropped the gloves and got hurt tho or the play actually happened outside of a fight to 80% of Vegas's roster.

You’re an Avs fan though. It is being presented that being okay with an injury on the player who committed the hit is okay by that fanbase.

Koleasar isn't really a good hil to die on for this argument.
Don’t care who it is. Either you’re okay with fans being fans, or you’re going to be butthurt when they feel disdain for your team’s player. Just don’t be a hypocrite about it.

People are saying MacK as a star should be avoided and Kolesar as a plug doesn’t matter. That is assigning value based on their ability and that it isnt okay that a star gets targeted. Like Perry was never a star. ;)

If he drops the gloves with somebody? Yeah. I'd 100% be fine with Seattle fans not caring about it. I personally don't cheer for anybody to get hurt because it's just a game but I certainly care less if it's a player/play where it's far more self inflicted.

Forget the players/teams. It's simply just different to get hurt from a slew foot vs a fight. One has accepted the consequences. The other hasn't. Byram is a good example of this. He's talking shit, getting chippy, and is willing to drop the gloves despite all the injuries/him sucking at fighting. I don't think anybody should root for him to get injured but some fanbases aren't going to care if he ever gets his clock cleaned in a fight.

Okay… just search Kolesar here. People cheer anytime time something bad happens to him, whether it is a fight or not. He’s earn his rep here and some would like to see him injured no matter the situation it stems from. Simply due to his history with Byram. People still wish the same on McNabb due to Hishon. Then on the other side be so butthurt over a simple slewfoot where MacK wasn’t even hurt… just barking at the ref.
