Quebec is paying the LA Kings 10M to play 2 preseason games in Quebec city next year. One against Boston and the other against Florida. That's really WTF worthy.

Okay… just search Kolesar here. People cheer anytime time something bad happens to him, whether it is a fight or not. He’s earn his rep here and some would like to see him injured no matter the situation it stems from. Simply due to his history with Byram. People still wish the same on McNabb due to Hishon. Then on the other side be so butthurt over a simple slewfoot where MacK wasn’t even hurt… just barking at the ref.

I was just talking about this situation because that's what everybody was posting about. I love how it's a "simple" slewfoot with MacKinnon and yet were discussing human value when Kolesar gets hurt lol

I can only speak for myself but the comparisons don't work when you ignore the situations. Intentionally slewfooting somebody vs getting hurt in fight is entirely different. MacKinnon/Kolesar's actions in the NHL are different. Fans are going to be fans myself included I just don't think this was the time to try and point out the bias. Feels forced. As you pointed out there will many times where it's valid.

This is the travesty we are defending?

Just look at the slewfoot people were upset with.

I’m saying either you are outraged by both or just say both are sports. To be outraged at a fan cheering one and then cheering another to a player not on your team is bias/hypocrisy.

I don’t think the slewfoot was intentional. It was one but Winterton was just turning. Not trying to be dirty. Just a play that happened.

Fanbases really do be hypocritical caring more about their players than other teams players, especially when that other team's player has a history of dirty play and one in particular that almost derailed our young prospect's career. On the other hand, our guy threw a shoe.

You’re an Avs fan though. It is being presented that being okay with an injury on the player who committed the hit is okay by that fanbase.

Don’t care who it is. Either you’re okay with fans being fans, or you’re going to be butthurt when they feel disdain for your team’s player. Just don’t be a hypocrite about it.

People are saying MacK as a star should be avoided and Kolesar as a plug doesn’t matter. That is assigning value based on their ability and that it isnt okay that a star gets targeted. Like Perry was never a star. ;)

Don’t care who it is? So you’re going with the apples and oranges are the same argument. Interesting choice.

Quebec is trying to show they have a viable NHL market despite the Canadian dollar slump. It won’t work and LA will just pocket the money (that gets counted as HRR). But that’s the idea.

Everyone’s friendly reminder that while Bleackley was a brutally awful draft pick and Pasta is incredible we have no idea what butterfly effect that would’ve had and there is no guarantee this core still wins a Cup when playing the what if game with the domino effects

If that's the case that's dumb because no one in Quebec can pay 1 bilion USD for a team.

Quebecor is currently having huge financial issues and just had to layoff 40% of their workforce, they certainly aren't in the business of buying a team anymore.

It clearly won’t work, but that’s the point. The 10m figure will be partially covered by the ticket sales and advertising revenue… but we’re talking 3-4m so a 6m cost to say look at us.

Friendly reminder that Pasta’s suits are worth more than the Cup. Literally.
