Shocker that a 30 year old player is regressing and a team isn't getting full value. :sarcasm:

Maybe we will have shades of the 1 point Kadri threads before he ripped off 8 in 7 games.
He is f***ing me over in fantasy, but I know the second I drop Gaudreau he's going to play PPG for a couple of weeks.

F***ing hell.

Feels like Lumbus is the new Arizona--where hockey careers go to die.

Uncanny how very little they're getting out of that roster. Yes, I realize it's not a good roster even on paper but even so, it's like everyone on that team is underachieving horribly.

Part of the problem is that you can't *force* a culture change. Telling the brand new coach to act like a drill sergeant isn't inspiring anyone to play harder, it's having the opposite effect. And in a market where players aren't exactly lining up to go to. I read that a lot of players felt disenfranchised because the team played tough in RFA negotiations, Jarmo freely admitted that so long as the team had a degree of control, they were going to use it, but those players felt like they were misled. I don't know who to believe there but I think that franchise is broken--possibly irreparably.

I think the last minute coaching change certainly didn't help. We all saw how that went in 16-17 and I think this CBJ team is more talented than that roster.

I think things were wrecked either way, bringing in Babcock was a hail-mary desperation move to begin with, and it blew up in their faces even sooner than they could have anticipated. It doesn't help that Vincent is more or less trying to act like Babs without the resume, but I don't put all that at his feet, management told him to do it this way. I think management is right, the culture there is broken, but what they're not willing to admit is that they're the probably the biggest reason why, and it won't change until they're gone.

How it goes after that, I don't know--I feel like this franchise is running on fumes, way too many mistakes for too long, no one is getting it right.

said it summer 22 when they signed their contracts Nuke was better value at 6 than Johhny Hockey at 9. I think I even said I'd rather have Nuke straght up at the same AAV. There has to be a case of a small skilled winger getting a market value contract and going on to win a cup but I can't think of one.

I don't see how they can enact a culture change while JD and Kekalainen are still there. Those two brought in Babcock and when that blew up they turned their team over to an inexperienced HC. This is the equivalent of promoting Joe Sacco. Outside of suggesting they start on time, he doesn't have a lot to offer them.

I feel bad for fans of Columbus and Arizona, they love hockey but are only treated to good versions of it by the visiting teams.

So they haven't won anything since their star player's 6.3 million cap hit went up. Interesting.
You said it not me!

The Habs thing pretty much confirms that Montreal don't want Quebec city in the league (which is something that everybody suspected anyway).

They have shown no interest in playing in Quebec city since 2018 but the Kings are coming in "their" market all of a sudden they are upset, tried to block it and say that they'd have played there for free.

Absolute BS.

f*** off Molson...that alone makes me want to go watch the Kings.

Are just naming players or what is happening here?

I should have quoted this when I responded:
