Wow. Didn't know the gap was that big between Pasta and Marchand.

His goals almost match Marchand's points!

Didn’t realize Bruins didn’t have anyone scoring over 30 goals or PPG beside Pastrnak. Got to give credits to the Bruins for a historic season with only one player hitting over 30 goals and being PPG.

So three of the 100pts player in 95-96, last season a player got over 150pts ended up playing for the Leafs. Wonder which three on the current list will be a Leafs in the future?

I'm surprised Jarmo will survive another season. I guess he gets some benefit of the doubt but... his track record is really not all that good. Their retool looks promising though so we'll see.

I genuinely think Jarmo is a great GM who drafts incredibly well and his players always thrive in other markets but never in his own backyard. Dunno what it'll take to fix that tbh

Think how good Marner was this year, playing on a top 5 team with elite players. Now ask yourself how good is MT who ended up with 10 more points than MM in one fewer game and on a bubble playoff team ? MT has 100+ points in B2B seasons for two different teams. Not too shabby for a guy who stirs the shit any chance he gets.
Poll was for Brady Tkachuk i think

Now pull the stats for Marner v. Brady, the poll l was referring to. l'd take Matthew any day of the week

After the JT hullaballo...the fans have soured my love for the Islanders but god damn it...I love Barzal and I really like Horvat. He's like the second coming of Toews for me lmao. Conflicted about who I wanted the Carolina vs Islanders to win.

I think by far the NYR vs NJD is the one that excites me the most.

At the same time, it should bring Pasta some MVP consideration. He is responsible for a big chunk of their offence.

Am I the only one who thinks Dallas is super overrated? They're a legit playoff team, but they are a clear tier below Cup contender IMO. They have a really good first line, but the rest of their forward group is pretty meh...Benn has had a good resurgent season, but close to ~40% of the dude's production has come from the PP, and he's also been shooting well above his usual numbers this year. Seguin is a shell of what he used to be, while Dadonov, Johnston, Domi, Marchment etc are decent but not great middle six tweener types. Johnston obviously has potential to be more than that, but he's just a rookie, how much will he really do in his first ever playoffs?

On defense, Heiskanen is a stud and Suter is basically their version of Mark Giordano, but the rest of the D are just decent and mostly unspectacular players.

Their biggest weapon is probably in net with Oettinger who is a legitimate franchise goalie, and almost stole the Calgary series on his own last year. If he gets hot I suppose he could steal many games, but is that enough to get them a Cup win?

I don't know guys, what am I missing here lol? I don't think this team is all that great, they're a solid playoff team but that's about it. Even in the two games the Leafs played against them, I didn't think they looked particularly impressive, especially in the second game in Dallas where the Leafs made easy work of them. I certainly wouldn't have them as a top 5 team.

I could see them coming out of the west.

Interesting. I thought he did pretty decent over the last few years. He didn't have it easy last off-season.

As I posted in the Dubas thread, sometimes you just need a change of scenery. You’ve done all you can and it just doesn’t work out. Brad Treliving is a good GM, he’ll have a president or GM job fairly soon.
