Rumor: Cam Robinson " I spoke to GM's on what the price is for Boeser" .... 1st round pick and legit prospect is the cost

Seems pretty steep for a rental
People love to say that every year. This year the market is tilted heavily in favour of the sellers. Boeser is what he is. What other defensively responsible 30+ goal wingers are available on an expiring contract?

People also expect too much for the guys who play for the team they watch every year. Sorry but your fanbase (assuming you’re a Canucks fan) is very guilty of this.

I guess we’ll see what he gets but I’d be pretty upset with Fitz if he gave that up for a rental.

Sure. I would also be upset. I'm also in full agreement that a 1st + solid prospect would be an overpayment.

It's a sellers market though, and the odds are high that there will be a GM or two that will partake in the silly season that is the NHL Trade Deadline.

He's scored 30+ goals once in his career. He's a good player but he has some significant warts to his game. If he was a consistent 30+ guy Vancouver wouldn't be looking to move him

The only reason the would move him is because he's a pending UFA. Not because he's a bad player.

Brock is a 65 point/30 goal per 82 games player. He's also trusted enough to hang on a high-leverage matchup line. That is good.

Over the past 5 seasons Boeser has averaged 27 goals a year playing an average of 71 games. I think calling him a 30 goal player is perfectly fair. The Canucks are obviously trying to change up their core, add more speed to their top 6, and don't want to pay Boeser 8+M / year on a 7+ year deal. They also don't want to lose a good player for nothing which is why they are looking to trade him.

Except he never plays 82 games a d he's only scored 30 once.

If Miller were still a Canuck, there's no way Boeser wouldn't be extended. He's a guy with a lot of talent, but needs a specific kind of Centre to succeed. The Canucks no longer have that Centre and Boeser's drop in play reflects that. Either that, or he's also tired of all the drama.

If he goes to the right team, I think he'll produce well for the next four years.

Doesn't "30 goal scorer" mean a player that scores 30 goals on a consistent basis, not a player that has scored 30 goals once?

For the previous five seasons before this year, Boeser missed 4 games per season on average.
You may want to recheck those numbers. This year hes missed 7 (and s ored 18 goals) Last year he missed 1 and had an outlier 40 goal campaign. the year before he missed 8 (and only scored 18 goals) . The year before that he missed 11 (and only scored 23 goals). What about this says 30 goal scorer?

I said for the previous 5 seasons before this year. He missed 1 last season, 8 in 22-23, 11 in 21-22, none in 20-21.

I didn't make a claim that he is a "30 goal scorer". I made the factually correct claim that for his career he averages 30 goals per 82 games.
