Hating a player in his first year on another team should not erase 25 years of hate and have it be okay for Anaheim to get closer to its 2nd Cup.

If I were you, I'd be going for Tkachuk to play poorly and look silly while Calgary still wins.

It's like Corey Perry hasn't existed for 10-11 seasons because here comes Matthew Tkachuk.

Corey Perry is an actual pest, not a dirty player.

Who said I want the Ducks to win the cup? I just want them to embarrass the Flames before bowing out! Getting past Calgary of all teams doesn't get them a thing.

The longer the Ducks or Sharks are in it, the better chance they have to win the Cup.

So, getting past Calgary gets them one step closer. Definitely playing with fire to be cool with the Ducks moving on.

The "One of SJ/ANA will lose in the second round anyways" means that one of them is going to the WCF and is one series away from the SCF.

Again, it's crazy to me. If you could guarantee the Ducks are out after embarrassing the Flames then cool. Since none of us can guarantee that, the safest play AT ALL TIMES is to cheer for the Ducks to lose every playoff game they are ever in.

RE: Perry. Not sure how he is considered a pest but not dirty. He's got a rap sheet going with DoPS himself. Multiple suspensions. Guy is a ****ing rat.

I have to admit, as much as missing the playoffs hurt, I have mostly good feelings about the results so far:
- Columbus getting pounded by injury riddled Pittsburgh, thinking they would be an easy opponent. And the "Are the Blue Jackets for real?" Thread based off regular season success.

- Montreal beating New York. I wonder if New York will say it's "luck" like when the Kings beat them.

- St. Louis beating Wild. The Wild former coach beating his old team. After their star defenseman was traded away.

Those are just a few thoughts.

0/6 on the PP, 2 shorthanded goals against, only 15 shots on goal...

Sharks mailed this one in

Watching McDavid makes me nauseous. Guy has cheat codes enabled and is playing the game on easy.

Meanwhile the Kings have to get a ****ing celestial syzygy just to score 3 goals. Man, it's tiring seeing such pathetic and lifeless offense.

Luc Robitaille is essentially the best offensive player the Kings have ever drafted. Usually don't draft high scoring players in any era.

Would you like to suffer for 10 years for a chance to get player similar to McDavid? Oilers got lucky. Most teams don't get a generational player like McJesus is. And they might not win the cup even with him. I thought that kings fans in general are used to bad teams.:naughty:

10 years? Didn't they get like 4 #1 picks in that time span? How many times have the Kings ever drafted #1 despite sucking ass for about 40 years of their 50 year existence?

Kassian destroyed the Sharks last night lol.

Not quite the Torres missile, but close.

Like the Blues/Wild series, the Sharks are also facing their most recent former coach. Coaches get recycled, but I wonder how many times that's happened in the playoffs. Seems like 2 in one season is a lot.

2007: 6th:Sam Gagner, 15th Alex Plante, 21st Riley Nash
2008: 22nd Jordan Eberle
2009: 9th Magnus Paajarvi
2010: 1st Taylor Hall
2011: 1st Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
2012: 1st Nail Yakupov
2013: 7th Darnell Nurse
2014: 3rd Leon Draisaitl
2015: 1st Connor McDavid
2016: 4th Jesse Puljujärvi

10 years, 9 top 10 selections, 8 consecutive top 10 and 3 consecutive 1st overall picks. At least they didn't get Matthews. They sucked so much, that they were unable to acquire more first round picks.

i though last night how close the Oilers were to both McDavid AND Matthews. Hell, even Eichel, can you imagine? Poolparty is gonna be awesome in his own right, but McDavid/Matthews would be as new era Gretzky/Kurri as one could get (or Gretz/Lemieux given both centers).
