Anyone else concerned about Tavares?

Willy had chased their guy back enough that he and the D changed, so JT was the only one still out.
Nylander, as the highest in the zone, was the only one who got to change when the Florida player missed the net and it bounced out of the zone. Tavares and Rielly were deeper in the zone and the puck only got to neutral ice, so they had to keep defensive positioning to avoid getting caught in a 2 on 1 or breakaway.

JT will look better on LW as he gets more reps on da wall .. i think ROR and JT will help us get to round 2 .. hopefully Keefer moves Willy to 3rd line so we can have productive lines like he always talked about

Nylander and Rielly changed at the same time - 4:28.

That's not true. We can clearly see at 6:55 in this video:

that Nylander changes alone, with 47 seconds left in OT. He is replaced by Marner.
We can then see Rielly in the defensive zone afterward, and the broadcast even puts a nameplate over him, as he clears the puck up to Tavares with 28 seconds left in OT (7:14 in the video) for the goal.
That's why he has an assist on the Tavares goal.

Thanks for posting that. My PVR messed up and didn't record the OT (I watched it in the highlights). I was going by the NHL website's TOI for my post.

80 games 80 points 36 goals imagine being concerned about John Tavares

He's becoming increasingly reliant on the PP for scoring and he's posting minuses on an upper level goal differential team.. overpaid by at least a few million.. but still a solid second liner for sure. I also like that Tavares is one of the few Leafs that is consistently willing to go to the net even in today's rather soft league.

I don't care how he gets the points just that he gets them.

If he can solve the PP come the playoffs, good

I really didn't like Tavares' quote about learning lessons from Game 1 yet again. It's just a very trite, no pulse kind of response from the leadership that's reflective of the overall team effort to finish the game.

Just close this thread already.

would love to hear JT and Knies talking about tonight’s game as they lounge around the Tavares crib

We should be even more concerned than ever after his play throughout the series. He was so bad in the dzone and couldn't connect an easy pass last night.
