Anyone else concerned about Tavares?

Flukey goal or not he still put it in and helped the Leafs win the series against Tampa. I wouldn't care if he had another flukey goal this game and won the OT against the Panthers tonight.

Tavares hasn't been amazing, but he's done alright so far in the playoffs. Wish he could do more, but its Matthews, Marner and Nylander that we're look at to carry the load and all three have been underperforming so far.

I wish I could be just alright in my job and be in the top 99% of compensation.

He’s still a solid 2C on pretty much every team.
If he was getting paid $8mil nobody would be complaining.

Once that contract is done he better sign for dirt cheap.

Definitely not captain material. Has the personality of a rock.

Anyone defending Tavares at this point needs to stop it with his regular season numbers. Sure he got 80 points this year, but 80 points nowadays isn't the same as getting 80 points in other areas. He was 29th in league scoring, and 91st (!) in ES scoring. And all while being a snail slow liability on the ice most of the time.

You have to figure out a way to move on from this guy. I still can't get over how Keefe used him in the top-6 'til the bitter end, he pulled a full on Babcock-Marleau with that.

You are not wrong today but my guess is that the plan was that JT along with the 3 amigos would win a cup or two before JT went off the cliff. Clearly the petit 4 were not up to the challenge and the last two years of the contract will cripple us unless JT does a Kutcherov.

Gotta permanently move him to the LW next season.
