Both are built for the playoffs. Tough call who people would take.

Seriously, you look at these two guys and their current contracts and say that Marner is the team friendly loyal one and Rantanen is the money hungry one. Gimme a breakSo Marner, who wants to be a Leaf for life or Rantanen, a guy who's made it known he wants a massive salary and is not loyal to the team, he wants to go where he gets paid more
And you think the Leafs shoulder take Rantanen ?
lol No, if you're starting a team from scratch or can add 1 guy to your team, sure go Rantanen.
Context matters though, Marner is a top line player that wants to be here. Rantanen would very likely walk in FA, just bad asset management.

I can see Toronto moving Marner sooner than AVs moving Rantanen. I'd much rather have Rantanen.
If Rantanen gets to UFA, I see a team offering 14 million. If I'm Montreal I would offer it
Source? Some reporter with connections with the Avs reported over the weekend that the Avs will be trading Rantanen if he’s not re-signed by the TDL. It’s likely a ploy to put pressure on Rantanen and make him realize getting to FA isn’t going to be a cakewalk. By doing this, the Avs plant the seed he might play for any of several bad teams. And if not, he’ll now be asked countless questions by the media about his impending trade or free agency.
That is not what happened lol. Some reporter with connections with the Avs reported over the weekend that the Avs will be trading Rantanen if he’s not re-signed by the TDL.
The Avs, on your opinion, would prefer Nylander over Marner?Toronto doesn't have anything good enough to offer for Mikko straight up. Maybe Nylander + Knies.
I would. Marner's weak, at least Willy comes to play come playoff time. The Avs, on your opinion, would prefer Nylander over Marner?
He still has some control over bad teams with his 9 team NTCSome reporter with connections with the Avs reported over the weekend that the Avs will be trading Rantanen if he’s not re-signed by the TDL.
