Samsonov starts, unless we know gm makes him do it, it is his call. Between S6msonov and the kid, he should start the kid and have S6msonov as a backup

This is 100% a Treliving decision. Not that Keefe hasn't done some questionable nonsense, but Brad is ultimately responsible on this one. I really hope this works out and that management is seeing something we're not.

I feel like for all the offence and transition skills he brings, he also brings defensive miscues and sometimes playing over his capabilities

He’s not that good defensively in general, and his offence isn’t good enough to A) push Rielly off pp1 and B) make up for his defence. He isn’t a krug or Walmart Bouchard who has such offensive skills he can make up for his defensive deficiencies

I’d much rather a more traditional depth dman such as lagesson over him, a person who’s no nonsense and doesn’t play over his abilities.

what some say about Robertson come playoff time applies to Timmins to. He won’t be able to handle heavy forechecking and as a result will be targeted.

I think it will get interesting if Samsonov plays well and wins tonight. Presumably it will mean that he will get at least one of the games on the road trip, and there are some high-scoring teams out there.
