Not a chance unless one of the goalies step up and have a 2003 JSG-like performance in the playoffs.
People said similar about Florida last year. 42-40 and barely squeaked into the final playoff spot and went to the SCF. Not saying we will do the same as they did, but just saying when you have a talented roster, just getting in affords you the opportunity to raise your game and exceed expectations.
Smart money is on betting against any specific team winning the cup in a specific year. 32 teams, 16 make it, only 1 can win

I don't see a Reinhart or Tkachuk in the current roster. Unless the new kid is the next Roy, JSG, Binnington ..., this is not the Leafs' year.
My point was, it's a stupid way to evaluate a team. People are saying "only regulation wins matter!" But ignoring regulation losses. Teams are unable to beat the Leafs in regulation, why doesn't that say anything about them ?
Also each team will have a different amount of games in which the outcome was determined in regulation, so it doesn't make any sense.
For example
Boston has 20 regulation wins and 8 regulation losses, 28GP
Colorado has 24 regulation wins and 12 regulation losses, 36GP
Vancouver has 27 regulation wins and 11 regulation losses, 38GP
Toronto has 13 regulation wins and 11 regulation losses, 24GP
I’d take Marner and Matthews over Reinhart, Tkachuk any day of the week. Objectively better players with the stats to much even in the playoffs.

What gets me so confused is so many people continuously say the regular season doesn't matter it's all about playoff performance,.
And so then good regular season play gets dismissed as being irrelevant, but a few bad regular season games apparently becomes proof the team won't succeed in the playoffs.....
