When Gio was injured and Lagesson and Benoit stepped up into the lineup, we were winning and defense wasn't a huge issue.

Lagesson should be in the lineup over Timmins right now, simply because he's much better in his own end. I'm not even sure Timmins is an upgrade over Gio, but I guess it gives him a night off.

I thought I was the only one thinking this. Agree totally. Lagesson is also a better skater than those other two and has sandpaper. He's always giving opposition forwards hell infront of our net. He is tough to play against and I want him to get more playing time for sure.

So arrogant! There is only 1 game separating the 2 teams. Red Wings are 21-21, Leafs are 21-19. Red Wings are thinking, "it's just the Leafs, so no excuses. Just get the 2 points and get outta there". Leafs are middle of the pack team. 14th or 15th in total wins?

would be nice if the Leaf fans did something completely un Leaf like. Give Sammy a standing ovation at puck drop. It’s all between this guys ears. Can’t believe they didn’t give him games in the ahl to figure things out. Wanna believe but this one is tough

The Leafs could allow 10 shots in the game and Samsonov could let in 4 of them and people here would blame ‘the defense’

What we need tonight is to keep the red wings to 6 shots or less

To be honest, all That means is that the Leafs have cap room for him. Look at Arizona, they have no one on LTIR, including guys like Bryan Tittle and Shea Weber, who will likely never play again, because they all fit under the cap.

What the Leafs need to do is score more goals than Detroit does. That's the only thing that will guarantee a win.

Keeping Detroit to 6 shots or less might help, but it's no guarantee. It is still very possible for a teamto do that and lose.

Say what you want about babs he refused to put marner and matthews together for a reason he wasn’t stupid and he held them accountable fourth line shifts demote to pp2 start pp2 instead of pp1 god you don’t know what you got til it’s gone and he didn’t want marner he wanted hanifan …. Keefe should be fired period.
Not giving one game to hildeby is poor management.
If the reason is they don’t want to hurt his progression think about getting called up and facing 2 of the worst teams in the league and the coach won’t put you in. Man that must help your confidence.

Brodie and gio are done. Brodie has regressed the last two years to the point of being a 5/6 on any other team. Gio is done let’s get rid of the feel good story and actually try to improve the team to win.

If Samsanov shuts the bed again tonight bye bye Keefe.

It’s not arrogance at all. I’m just saying, we’re not playing some elite team. Just go out and win, no excuses. I think it’s very clear, when both teams are on their game we are the better team and have proven that our over several years.
