SERENITY NOW

What other BS will Brodie show tonight?

He's followed the Marc Eduard-Vlasic career trajectory of being a reliable shutdown D his whole career and completely losing his IQ for some arbitrary reason in their early 30's.

Brodie was showing a lot of worriesome signs last year but I didn't think much of them. This year I'm stuck genuinely wondering wtf happened to this guy

Giving Gio a rest tonight makes sense. Definitely would have preferred Lagesson in over Timmins.

Sammy starting is mind boggling. Could it work out? Yeah, but the chances are slim.

It's whacky to me that they are throwing him back into the fire so soon. He didn't even play AHL games...

I'm a big TJ Brodie fan but the guy is STRUGGLING this season. Last night in particular. I would give him a rest too.

Rielly-Liljegren
Benoit-McCabe
Lagesson-Timmins

Defense needs a complete overhaul this off-season.

I think the game plan from now on needs to be to keep the game close so the team can't take their foot off the gas and the refs can't put their foot on it.

If I hear these guys are fatigued because it 's a back to back and they can't get up for 8-22 minutes tonight while I work 40-50 hour weeks and 8-16 hour days, I will laugh because it's simply not an excuse.

On the other hand, I suspect Samsonov gets torched.

I can't believe how poorly run this organization is. Even Edmonton was smart enough to move on from Campbell after 5 games, and are keeping him in the AHL until he can earn his way back. Samsonov has been below NHL quality for 15 games, and they didn't even feel the need to see him play once to thrust him back into the net. They're so convinced that a handful of days off has fixed the worst goalie in the league, but also were too gutless to announce their decision last night

Samsonov confirmed starting

I give up
I'd like to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and think that with a bit of time off he can come back refreshed and put up a solid effort for us. But I can't help but expect him to let in at least 5 goals and give us some stoic words after the game about being better next time. The pressure is even worse with last night's debacle. If he does his sieve routine and gets shelled again what do you do with the guy? I'm hoping he does well for himself.
