And I'm fine with that. HF prospect ranker had those guys ranked 7.5C which seems fair, exactly same as Petan which I might begrudgingly consider a fair trade in a one for one

im sure you would dude. but defensemen are worth more than wingers. montour outscored petan as a defensemen and larsson has more potential than montour. noone else would do that 1 for 1 but jets fans. and for a reason

Yes we get it, all Duck defensemen are amazing, they likely have 6 top pairing guys in their system, right?

I have no problem with Morrissey being put on the same tier as Theodore. Both are equally promising. Morrissey is more of a two-way threat, so extrapolating on offensive stats isn't really getting to the heart of the issue. Both looked like they had high ceilings at all levels. It's not like Lindholm was some statistical beast in the AHL, but if you watched him it was understandable that he had a high ceiling. I'd argue that the same is true of Morrissey.

Good post. Morrissey had 2 goals and 10 points in 28 AHL games in his draft+1 season (mostly playoff games). Lindholm had 1 goal and 11 points in 44 AHL games in his draft+1 season. Lindholm was always a better prospect than Morrissey. Scoring rates in the AHL aren't a great way to assess young defensive prospects. Morrissey has high end skating, skills and vision. He has a chance to be a top end NHL defenseman, as does Theodore.

They probably do. Depending on the need and team they are on.... and if we are talking about today or 4 years from now.

I can see 4 Ducks dmen hitting top pairing potential with 7 or more of them hitting top 4.

Depends where they play though.

Lindholm was not one of the best shutdown defenders in the world during the time frame they mentioned.

Vatanen Fowler lindholm manson and despres are all already top 4 dmen... that means 2 of Theodore, Montour and larrson have to be top 4 to have 7, it's not unrealistic.

Top pair guys I'd say lindholm and Theodore are the only legit option, larsson still to raw to make that claim

And that by this time in Morrissey's career, Lindholm had already forced his way into 2 full NHL seasons amassing a +54 rating and 64 points. Meanwhile Morrissey has only earned his way into playing 1 singular NHL game.

Can't possibly be any difference between the two prospects nor their upside...

This is not why Lindholm's name came up.

Lindholm didn't request a trade.

"the irony of a Ducks fan chirping about Trouba when Lindholm isn't signed either"

Wouldn't personally fire shots at anyone if my team gets called out by the player himself for lowballing.

By the way, you can count on me putting that post in my signature, if karma strikes back. :)
