If given the choice between Connolly or Lombardi, I would choose Tim. He has the chance to rebound. I recall a Tim Connolly is awesome thread early last year. He started the season solidly and then faded. Hopefully for the Leafs sake, he maintains that early season consistency like last year.

Mac is more of a playmaker himself so I'll be happy if he can dish some passes to kadri to finish as well

You can't judge him based off his time in Buffalo and Atlanta. He found his game again in Toronto, and is hands down the playmaker on that line.

Lol Didn't notice that, actually thought his face looked thinner. It's shaved bald so maybe that makes him look bigger.

I listened to Carlyle's interview and it sounded like he wouldn't hesitate to put Kadri back to the minors. It sounded like since he has a 2-way contract, it's just much easier to put him in the minors unless he plays EXCEPTIONALLY well. It was interesting to give him a Bobby Ryan and Corey Perry comparison though because he doesn't throw him under the bus that way. He at least give him some inspiration. Hopefully that interview makes Kadri try even harder to make the roster and do well on the team.

MacArthur is a good player. Perhaps a bit overused at times but he contributes well in a top 9 role, can be feisty and seems to be a good 2-way forward for the most part.

He's not a key or core player, but a good depth player to have.

I think he'll outprice his stay here but that's not to say he was a bad player if he walks at the end of the year. With the depth we have on the wings, MacArthur is a bit redundant though. His skillset can be traded without losing too much.

I think we have seen the best C-Mac has to offer. He doesn't have any particular part of his game that makes him special. He's a steady NHLer but kind of a Pontiac when it comes to standing out.

Mac makes for a good second or third liner, I'd re-sign him if his demands aren't unreasonable. He can carry the puck, pass, shoot, and occasionally kicks someone's ass. He's not particularly great at any one thing, but he's decent at em all. He'll surprise occasionally with a really good move or snipe. I think that Grabovski has gotten the most out of MacArthur that he can hope for in the NHL, but he can be a 20/30 guy for a few more years.

The Bozak line and the Grabo line is pretty much what I had in mind. I'd replace Lombardi with Kadri and that would be my top 9.

Still don't know why the media isn't reporting the defense pairings, unless they are not paired together like the forwards are?

Wouldn't be surprised at all if that was the lineup. However, I think this team needs to roll with guys who have actually been playing live games as much as possible. Sending Kadri and Frattin down would be foolish IMO. Guys like those two, in addition to Grabovski, Kulemin, Komarov, and to a lesser extent Aucoin will be important for conditioning reasons alone.

This is also a reason why I wouldn't be surprised if Rielly received the full 7 (?) game tryout allotted to CHLers this season.
