There was that tweet yesterday that was posted here from a Sens reporter about something cooking between LA and Boston involving one of Boston's goalies and PLD. That was posted before there was even any hint of these teams working on a trade so I am guessing there was some truth to that tweet.
sens reporter? it was some random who writes about ottawa for the hockeywriters lol

Not surprised Jets didn't trade any prospects. Seeing the deals Chevy has made over the years he seldom includes prospects or young players. The talks of perfetti, heinola among others were so far fetched on here.

Sharks are going to have trouble attracting fans next year, looks like a complete gut job is going to happen. they are still paying Brent Burns
They know they're gonna suck, perhaps clearing a shit ton of money for the books?

I feel like I should stop myself because I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, and it’s more likely Grier is just THAT dumb, but something is fishy with the Hertl trade.

So SJ traded their best player, who is under contract for six more years, AND they retained on him, AND they threw in two 3rd round picks to their biggest rival. They’re helping their biggest rival for the low cost of a 1st (which should be late) and a prospect, who was drafted 32 overall, so nearly a 2nd round talent. It just doesn’t make sense.

Again, I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy theorist because it’s probably just Grier being dumb but what the hell, man. Just seems like an extremely odd trade for them to make.
Another reply. Grier also traded Kähkönen to New Jersey for... Vitek Vanecek, straight up. What the hell is that for a trade? Kähkönen has been at least half-decent, having saved about as many goals as expected, whereas Vanecek is easily a top 5 worst goaltender of the season (with a worse contract to boot). That is terrible.

That's wild, Seravalli has real credibility. At least more than some random THN writer for the Senators :dunno:
Yeah, wasn’t Seravalli the dude who spent all day spoiling the Kraken expansion draft by Tweeting the picks?

Basically the NHL equivalent of Tweeting “Can’t wait for The Empire Strikes Back premiere tonight. Hearing Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker’s father.” in 1980.

Adding Toffoli and Miller will have some lineup ripples. The Jets forward group is now stacked, especially if the reports are true that Vilardi isn't long term. It probably means Perfetti on the 4th for the rest of the season and needing to carry his own weight to be an everyday player in the playoffs. Appleton now also might be at risk on the 3rd if Iaffalo displaces him there. Names a lock for 4th line center but winger options are likely Perfetti, Barron and Appleton. Kupari and Gus PB guys. Lots of depth and internal competition.

On defense Miller and Schmidt likely splitting time down the stretch with the more effective player as a playoff starter. Stanley now #8 and Heinola playing out the year on the Moose.

The big bonus is our new found depth allows us to weather injuries much better than in past years.

Perfetti Namestnikov Iafallo was our second line for a time and had some good success:

8 gf 3 ga with 62 xGF%

That is a line that can contribute.

But I expect they will have to try a couple different combos up and down the lineup to find optimal combinations.

Oh damn Vilardi isn’t a long-term injury? I missed that. Where’d you hear that?

chevy just said at a past deadline he threw out 2 1sts at a team for a defensemen but the defensemen didn't get traded

I just heard that too... wonder who it was, guessing it was pre-Schmidt/Dillon so probably in 2020 and 2021... if we go back and look at d-men with term who were rumored to be available during that time we could narrow it down.
